Life is too short....

It really is. I've come to realize that in the last 3 years or so. This is why you rarely see me here any more. I don't want to waste my time on stupid and petty.

It's not just here. I rarely post anywhere these days. I spend enough time on the computer at work as it is so coming home and pecking away is tiresome. It's the worst here though I must tell you.


As a few of you know I've been a member here for quite some time so bear with me. Read it, ignore it, ridicule it. I really don't care. If you DO read it perhaps think about it if you are capable of thinking outside of your own self contained little box.

In October of 2013 I ended up in the emergency room. I couldn't handle the pain any longer. I spent 3 days in the hospital with an inflamed pancreas. I would not wish this on anyone.
It was not my first bout with my pancreas as I have pancreatitis but my first bad issue in about 20 years.

It wasn't an overnight thing folks. It was building up and I finally couldn't take it any longer. So I ended up in the hospital with no insurance because I couldn't afford it.

I'm almost done paying for that. I pay my bills.

Of course after and before this I was missing a lot of work. Gut wrenching pain will do that to you after all.
I mentioned it here and rlm came up with the brilliant suggestion of basically "find another part time job".

If you folks want to waste your time look it up but it happened.
My reply was that I had managed a few places and hiring a worker that would most likely miss work due to illness is not overly bright. Or is it in some parallel universe?

His next reply was basically "your wife should get a job". My reply was basically she already does and please don't insult my family I don't insult yours. The thread grew quiet at that point.

Fast forward to July of 2014. I took a fall and snapped my femur. Emergency room again that required a hip replacement. 3 more days in the hospital, 7 weeks of therapy and I still occasionally use a cane. I'm not that old but I can live with that. I'm still alive and mobile whereas many have it worse. I feel for them. Call it compassion.

At THIS point I at least had insurance and mentioned it on this thread. Read it if you want to waste any time.

Again it was rlm. (Sorry if I seem to picking on you but I'll get over it). Rlm immediately jumped to me "touting Obamacare". No. I wasn't. I was just glad to have some insurance that I couldn't afford before.

If you read further on the thread I'm not a fan of Scott Walker. Once again rlm makes an absurd comment. Perhaps you thought you were being cute?

I have no friends outside of Indiana. Sorry dude but I DO. Many of them are not even "GASP" liberals!


In the meantime I was still not feeling too well.
So I made a doctor appointment for my day off. Got up and took my "morning constitutional". Hmmm... not feeling too good and OH LOOKEE a toilet of blood!

I woke up my wife (who works for a living) and told her I needed to go back to emergency. I was hurting too bad at that point to drive the 2 miles.
So I was admitted to ICU. After a multitude of tests I was told I needed to be sent to the Univerity of Chicago.

I spent 6 days there. Turns out I had an aneurism in a large vein into my bowels. A procedure was performed by the best around. The aneurism broke while they were doing it. Had it broken earlier I most likely would have died.

Since then I look at the subjects on PLines. Once a week perhaps and I see the same old crap.

Coin and rlm going at Joe and vice versa. I even saw the thread about "where have all the liberals gone on this site?"

I have to admit I nearly responded to that one.
If one took a passing glance they might notice that StuJoe and ArizonaJack haven't been around much either.
You know. A few guys that might actually have something to say whether or not I agree with it?

Just curious. Did you obtain insurance through Obamacare or did you obtain it elsewhere?

I seriously doubt you will. It has been 9 months since that post and you come back charging like a wounded buffalo.

RLM, Don't forget that you were also called a "pussy". Those are some harsh insults, especially those last few. I've been known to throw out some insults, too. In fact, I've called JoeNation "Moron Joe", "Racist Joe" and "Idiot Joe" (ooooooh, those are simply terrible compared to the insults thrown at me). I've called his underling "Parrot", "Suckling Sycophant", "Garbage Man" (actually not an insult, just a descriptor) and "Puppet". I've probably also called someone or other a "bitch", but only because they were bitching. Yep, those are just awful.

Watch closely, I'm certain I'll have a few more insults thrown at me as I'm sure you will, too. Undoubtedly, I'll hurl out a few more when the time is right. But, like you say, if one doesn't like the insults, then don't stop in.

Yeah, there have been quite a few insults slung around here. The point is that if someone doesn't like the insults, don't tune in. Maybe the Fisher-Price or Play-Doh forums would be more to their liking.

 

Me neither, because it's pointless to complain about insults, and not just because we're both guilty of it, but because it's childish, and clembo doesn't like these ridiculously immature back-and-forths to be referenced as such. He's sooooo immature that way.

Or.......Instead of blaming the more civil participants for having thin skin and suggesting they avoid coming here at all, maybe the better solution is that the people that do come here show a bit of maturity and grow the f*^%# up. Instead a race to the bottom of civility, why not strive for this forum going in the other direction? My guess is because keeping PL a bullies playground feeds some people's innate immaturity. Another reason I can't take this place seriously.
