I sat down at dinner with the kids. They asked if we could watch a Disney movie while we ate. Of course I said. They turn it on and the channel opens up to a big page …. The rainbow pride selection of movies….. What??? Disney!?! Mickey, Minnie, Daffy Duck???. What the hell is this? Is Disney a porn channel now??

The very best way to enjoy good Disney without rewarding bad Disney . . . Rent the old, pre-Eisner Disney movies or, better yet, build a library of them from pawn shops where you can still occasionally find them.

I honestly didn’t know this was a thing. If I turn on the golf channel I don’t expect to see Deep Throat. I had no idea that gay porn was being foisted upon our kids under the banner of DISNEY?!?! I am just completely flabbergasted….

I didn't either, but have no reason to doubt your claims, as I observed them drifting from their wholesome roots a couple of decades ago, and can well imagine how far they now are from that mooring.

Pride isn't inherently sexual. Hell, encompassed in it is the asexual people. I think it's primarily just featuring queer content creators and sorylines. I have heard content in general is less G rated on Disney+ these days, but that has more to do with them acquiring Hulu and cross streaming some of its content

Then leave that mess on Hulu. My kids turn on the Disney channel every day. G rated or not makes no nevermind in my mind. Cartoon princes kissing cartoon princesses is as far as my kids need to see….. I go through the trouble of setting up viewing parameters on my TV and Disney was a no questions asked choice in my mind. I’m still just floored.

Yeah, Disney went off the rails when they started all their woke, liberal bull-edited-.

I love old Disney. But, new Disney is just a load of crap.

Good lord…. Fifty years ago Lucy and Ricky slept in separate beds and nobody was confused…… Just look how far we have come….. Or devolved depending upon how you see this mess.

Edit… And correct me if I am wrong. But wasn’t it about at this point of debauchery that Rome collapsed?

Cartoon princes kissing cartoon princesses is no more or less pornographic than princesses kissing princesses or princes kissing princes

Well, as I recall you haven’t raised kids yet. That’s not anything negative against you, but I’m on my third generation of children. I been raising kids since the 1970’s in fact and here’s what I know. The difficulty raising a child in 2020 is tenfold the challenge of raising kids in the 1970’s. The distractions and negative influences are a hundred fold over what they were in years past. If I have to attend my child’s funeral because they were confused and unsure of something they didn't understand and took their life as a result, that makes me a failure and that’s simply unacceptable…. These kids get but one childhood before they face the rigors of adult life. At that point they are free to choose whatever path they desire. The only stress they need at childhood is getting acceptable grades. There will be no princesses kissing princesses in my living room.

Studies show they are far more likely to take that route if you try to repress and make shameful what they're feeling.

I understand your experience and agree with you there, I just don't understand why princes kissing princesses is acceptable and princesses kissing princesses isn't.

And, @Mopar Dude, do you really think there's anything wrong with this book?

I'll just leave it at this. If some parents find some sort of value in this mess, that is their decision and I don't have a dog in that fight. I won't tolerate it in the presence of my kids and that's just the way it is going to be.

But I want to put this whole thing in perspective here. I have parental controls set on my TV. Not a small feat fro a fellow that isn't comfortable in the digital world. It so happens that Disney owns the rights to the Beatles film work. Being of that generation, I do watch the Beatles on Disney..... In order for me to do that, I have to override the parental controls I have set. Why?? Because the Beatles, like everyone else in 1968 smoked cigarettes.... If a parental control has to be overridden to witness a Beatle smoking, then that same parental control should have to be overridden to view the gay, rainbow selection of "entertainment", shouldn't it?? Rather, it is the first screen out of the box when Disney is tuned in!! Yes, there is something very inherently wrong with this.

I have no qualm with a gay lifestyle. None whatsoever as long as it remains in your bedroom. But I live in a capitol city and have run across rainbow events in the city center. These are truly outward expressions of gay porn. I seen it with my own eyes and you can't tell me otherwise. I don't fondle my wife in public and I don't want my kids to see men fondling men on the street. This movement in recent years is counter to what is moral and right. Don't tell me that you can express gay tendencies in public when that is no more morally correct than expressing heterosexual tendencies in public. This destruction of morality will be the end of this nation if gone unchecked.

And if they wouldn’t have been feeling so confused if not for being exposed to such ideas . . . ?

Only if you assume homosexuality is a learned behavior, which is simply not the case.

Untrue . . . not about homosexuality necessarily being a learned behavior, but about the "Only" part of your statement.

You omit, whether intentionally or not, the influence of such introductions upon those who are not naturally inclined toward, yet get drawn into homosexuality.

For me that is what is so objectionable, and I suspect is to so many others as well.

Enough using the homosexuality is natural argument to support such grooming.

Yes, homosexuality is natural, for some. It is also unnatural for others, and you, mister-open-mindedness, of all people should respect that.

Keep it in the bedroom, and out of the classroom.

I agree with you there's plenty of things that should be kept in the bedroom, but this thread appears to argue they shouldn't exist in public spaces at all. I don't accuse you of this (yet) but I think it's hypocritical to be okay with men and women kissing each other but not okay with the homosexual version of that. It's equally innocent.

I guess, just don't go to those events? You've picked extreme examples from something that happens once a year. I agree it's too far for general audiences, but you don't have to go.

Anyway, I don't understand how that means children shouldn't see princes kissing princes any more than they should be exposed to princes kissing princesses
