I heard that there were so many recall petitions delivered to the capitol building that they had to check the integrity of the floor to make sure that it could hold the weight. Now that is a recall! Republicans be warned, overstep, overreach, bring in outside money interests and you go down in flames like Walker. This is only the first step in the demise of the Right-wing money machine that keeps Cons corrupt and the people’s voices silent. We take back this country starting today state-by-state starting with Wisconsin. Go Wisconsin!
*yawn* Not this again! It's true that the liberals and the unions have LOTS of money behind them and have little trouble mounting a recall campaign. It's unfortunate that dirty politics and filthy tactics can sometimes win out.
My God, man. Your posts are getting worse and worse all the time. Now, they've degraded to Junior High School level. No, make that Elementary School level.
Gee, I was going to start a thread about this and hope that there would be some adult answers. I may be too late but I'll try. The petitioners needed 540,000 signatures. They were shooting for 720,000 for a cushion. It appears they may have garnered over a million. That's a lot. A lot more than they needed actually. This does not automatically get rid of Walker. There will be an election. He may win but even if he does it sends a message. That is a victory in itself. I know some of you will just love this because it's the Huffington Post. It was convenient in a Google search okay? The bottom is numbers and I believe we'll see a lot of them to be accurate in the long run. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mary-bottari/scott-walker-recall-1-million-signatures_b_1210538.html Moen. Don't count the chickens before they are hatched. CoinOKC. Dirty politics? Union money? Is that anything like the Koch Brothers? Do you recall when Walker got punked by someone posing as a Koch brother? Spilled his guts for sure but that's all good, clean politics isn't it? I suppose punking him could be considered dirty politics but his spilling his guts really did reveal what a weasel nut he is. Does anyone have anything remotely intelligent to say?
As I understand it, this is not a recall (i.e. the vote is to retain Walker or kick him out), but rather a new election called earlier than scheduled. In that case, the Democrats are still lacking a big necessity - a candidate. Unless that changes, Walker will win hands down.
Tis the way I understand it as well rlm. Dem's need a candidate so it is certainly not a lock either way to me. There are a few ways to look at it at this point. A quick election could be bad for the Dems as raising money for the candidate could be problematic when Walker has been out raising money. On the other hand stalling could be bad for the Repubs. More time for the Dems to organize and raise money. I do not see Walker winning hands down however. He won the original election with about a million votes. The signatures for his recall seem to be over a million. I doubt those people will vote for him. Thanks for the intelligent response BTW.
Democrats in Michigan failed to gather enough signatures to recall the governor last year. Too bad, the guy's as bad as Wisconsin's in the abuse-of-power catagory. Republicans control the state on most levels here and the corruption is unreal, not that most Republicans would agree with me of course... at least not until their pocketbooks get picked. Marquette County (a neighboring county to mine) is beginging to understand that, as they are feeling the financial pinch of Lansing's (the state capital) fingers.
