Sounds like the man is a follower of Margret Thatcher, if it goes ahead be prepaird for strong opposition from the Unions

I think that this Wisconsin Republican Governor is just the tip of the iceberg. The Republicans are assaulting labor (That's you and I) all across the country. Before labor unions, the business owners used to use the local police force to beat striking workers and in many cases, beat them to death. Republicans are showing their hand early and that may be their undoing. Can you say recall?

As long as the workers remain working and stay nonviolent, there's no problem. But, if they decide to strike, then common sense dictates that workers who refuse to work should be fired. Just like Reagan did to the striking Air Traffic Controllers...

Are you afraid of a mass exodus from Illinois (broke and raising taxes) to Wisconsin (healthy and cutting taxes)?

The "mass exodus" will probably wait until Wisconsin actually has lower tax rates than Illinois. What Wisconsin is about to realize is a boycott of their tourism industry just as the summer season is about to kick off.

Not anti-labor, but rather for not wasting the people's money.

    AND SO IT BEGINS...

Support Wisconsin Workers - Boycott Johnsonville and Sargento

    by karin

You may have heard about the bill that Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin has introduced to abolish collective bargaining by the state employees. Masked as en effort to save the state money, it is actually a move to destroy the unions.

The Stayer family - founders of Johnsonville Company (you know, brats and other good things!) - and the Gentine family - founders of Sargento Co (think cheese!) were major donors to Walker's campaign.

You can support Wisconsin workers by a/ boycotting these companies and b/ calling or emailing the companies to let them know why you will not purchase their products.

For more information on donors to Scott Walker's campaign, you can go to Wisconsin Democracy Campaign's Follow the Money webpage.

To contact Sargento - Call 1-800-CHEESES between 9 and 4 Central Time M-F.
Or use their email form on this page.
Sargento has been responsive to consumer input in 2009 when they stopped advertising on Glen Beck's show.

To contact Johnsonville - 1-888-556-BRAT or use their contact form.

    I'm pro-labor, but anti-union. I don't believe you can grasp that.

That's like saying, "I'm pro-business but anti-capitalism." Every workplace concession you have today is because unions fought for those concessions. They weren't given freely and taking them for granted is the quickest way to lose them. I doubt you'll ever grasp that. You are about as short-sighted as they come. A broad middle class only developed in this country after labor unions arrived. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Speaking of "recall", these assualt tactics sound just like the Dims in the 1960's DeepSouth and the means they which they tried to keep everything segregated, doesn't it?

I'm pro-free market and think unions have outlived their usefulness. Companies have found that they can use overseas labor and don't have to deal with the unions in this country. I still stand by my statement that if workers refuse to work, fire them. You'll never grasp THAT because it's just common sense.

I'm not actually sure you could be less informed. It isn't to escape unions that businesses are sending jobs overseas, it is to escape environmental and worker safety issues that we enforce in this country and so that they can pay people a dollar a day to make your shirts. In the case of Wisconsin, we are talking about pension guarantees and the right to collective bargaining that is at stake. Do you believe that the pensions these people have paid into all their lives should be used to balance the states budget? Do you believe that the people shouldn't have the right to collective bargaining? How can you call yourself pro-labor without bursting into flames is the real question? You’re not pro-labor, you’re pro-open season on labor.

You mentioned "strikes" and that's was what I was commenting on. If people don't want to work, fire them. Common sense.

You would not care to explain that line, would you? From what I read, I am not sure I could get a cup of coffee from what they have paid so far.

How would you have any idea what they have already contributed to their state pension fund? Do you even know how a state pension fund works??? I seriously doubt it. Again, you are speaking to issues in which your information base is nonexistent but that never has stopped you in the past from putting your 2 cents in anyway.

A strike doesn't mean that someone doesn't want to work, except in your opinion anyway, it means that workers are fighting for a better deal for themselves and all those ungrateful bas****s that will eventually come after them.

Here is a description of the people in unions you despise so much. Union workers are hardworking, middle-class people who work, live and pay taxes in our communities. They are firefighters, police officers, teachers, factory workers, grocery workers, mail carriers and many more. They provide much-needed services and assist in manufacturing products throughout this great country.

They fight for safe working conditions and a livable wage and benefits, as well as decent health care and pensions, among other things. You may not be in a union and may in fact be anti-union, but if you enjoy weekends off, paid vacation and sick leave, overtime, a safe working environment, a decent wage and some sort of retirement benefit, or any of those benefits, then you can thank the labor movement and unions.

All of these benefits and more were earned with the blood, sweat and tears — and sometimes the lives — of those in unions and the labor movement who proudly fought for them so that all workers can enjoy them.

Remember, unions are the bas**** offspring of bad management. If you've never benefited from the sacrifices of the workers that came before you, then you've never held a job in this country or you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth.
