Is there actually a law that says you have to pay income tax? If so, could someone point it out to me.

From what I was always under the impression of, it starts with the US Constitution Article I, Section 8.

I know that, but this is what gives Congress the power to enforce paying it though.

From what I have been told, this is unconstitutional, and infact, there are several former IRS workers, who now no longer pay income tax because they know themselves there is no law requiring you to pay that tax...hmm... is this a rumor or true?

Hahaha.. indeed I do.. Sewer bills been rising around these parts too..

I've heard that too Bender.. I actually know someone who tried it, he's now declared bankruptcy and owes the IRS a bundle as bankruptcy doesn't wipe out tax debt or student loans. Poor fool..

Tax evasion has been used to take many a man to his knees..

Basically, it comes down to you owe them whatever the hell they say you owe them, or else. The end.

I can not verify, I have no proof, this is just hear say..

Hearsay or not, it brought up an interesting point... what if you didn't pay taxes?

I think the vast majority are never caught or punished..

    But if you are... goodnight.

Although, if everyone agreed to not pay taxes til we get some stinkin accountability for our dollars things could be interesting..

My ex girlfriends two brothers are both also in trouble with the IRS. Ones been paying for years and prolly will til death. The other had yet to get caught by the feds but the State was on his ass and it's only a matter of time. Both had no withholding taken for years as they did siding and just kept all the money rather than tuck 30% away for taxes every year. I don't think one filed a return for a decade.. He's screwed..

Thing is, niether one can participate in mainstream financial activities. No bank accounts, no property, no credit, nothing.. One couldn't rent an apartment.. He's freakin 35 years old.. They'll take it from them and they know it until they clear the debt.. It never goes away. Penelties are quite severe and I don't think it takes that long and $50,000 is $500,000..

Right, right, penalties and what have you.. but answer me this... who owns the money, the government, or the central bank? Does not the central bank give the government money ON INTEREST?

I think they do... And other banking institutions.. Actually, we've sold our debt to mainly the Chinese, and other international morons who snapped up all those bundled mortgages that are going bust. I think Citibank alone is over 20 billion in bad mortgage debt. Worldwide? Who knows..
