Why Do These Republicans Even Bother Saying Things About Women?

It only pushes women further and further away from the GOP. Here is a winning strategy. Just stop talking about women.
Mike Huckabee used to be a contraception coverage 'Uncle Sugar'

    Mike Huckabee

Mike Huckabee has, predictably enough, started fundraising off his claim that "the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing them for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of government."

No doubt Huckabee will raise a good bit of money from that part of the Republican base that thinks Viagra is a God-given right for men but pregnancy should be the automatic outcome of women having sex. But, as an AP headline puts it "Huckabee's 'libido' remarks could complicate GOP outreach to women." Gee, ya think? Huckabee also has a wee consistency problem here:
Huckabee's donors are unlikely to care about that—like Huckabee, their thinking on contraception coverage probably changed dramatically right around the time Barack Obama became president. But it's exactly the women who Republicans keep claiming they're trying to woo who might have problems with everything about this, from the Uncle Sugar-libido talk to the hypocrisy.

I'll let women rage on that one, except for a few points:

One - Contraception prevents conception. It doesn't terminate conception, it prevents conception from occurring.

That should be acceptable to the "life-begins-at-conception" crowd, but they can't see it for whatever reason. Maybe they just don't know what contraception is, and don't care to understand it, but if they did, they'd be foolish to be so against it.

Which brings me to my second point: Less conceptions means less abortions.

Contraceptives absolutely and irrefutably means there is nothing to abort. Again though, some people cannot grasp this simple concept, and as a result are actually causing more abortions. Foolish indeed if you are hell-bent on preventing abortions.

Point three: While it is also irrefutable that some republicans use both contraception and abortions, it is highly likely that it is at a lower level than non-republicans, due to the belief system republican families generally have on both issues.

That means that, by fighting against both contraceptives and abortions, republicans are actually creating more people who will likely vote against their party someday.

    IMO

I think the Right-wing is completely, totally, 100% obsessed with sex. They simply can't stay out of people's bedrooms. They want government to regulate every single aspect of sex. What is this creepy Right-wing obsession anyway?

But I have never witnessed a rape and failed to report it. I don't look in other people's bedrooms. PERIOD!

Ah ha ha ha ha Drunk sorority girls and drunk frat boys that have been raping them for decades is hardly a new phenom now is it? Rape in fraternities is the price the little sisters pay for belonging. I could care less how many of those Right-wing colleges kids rape each other. Where do you think your parents created you? Idiot!

I see I hit a nerve. Back to your attempt at insults. I guess you are out of facts. BTW, you brought up the subject. We did not.

How many girls/boys have YOU personally raped? You Right-wingers seem to feel rape is your right. Give us a number. Just the legitimate rapes please.

Ah! Got it. Ran out of facts so you use the liberal tactic of attacking the messenger. You are only publishing how much you don't know, so have at it.

I expect moronic postings from you, Little Joe, but this one takes the cake. Is that why you didn't report the rape you witnessed? Because it's just "the price the little sisters pay for belonging"?

Really? And you work at a university? Is this belief shared among your peers & co-workers?

All this phony indignation from the party of legitimate rape. Too funny.

...and just think, BO just announced an initiative to protect young women, on college campuses, from people like you!

The least scrutinized/punished rapes in the country are probably on reservations.

College campuses/Spring Break binges are certainly a hotbed for the crime, but so are households across America.

    They are all repulsive.

Oh, shut up and go watch another rape. Then don't report that one, either.
