so far i like president washington and kennedy. as for the spouses. i like jaqueline and some lady wearing gown.
If you have to pair the choices and since I'm only 36, i'd have to say James and Dolly Madison. Dolly served as first lady during Jefferson's administration. And, he was one of my favorites.
I think as a person Taft was the one I admire the most...as a president I think it would be Jefferson.
Ike and Mamie Eisenhower. Everyone "loved' Ike in the 50's, and Mamie billed herself as just a housewife.
I have to agree with Peter on this one... Lincoln was the BEST! As far as First Ladies are concerned, I like Laura Bush...!
Jack Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe. I think her gold spouse coin will sell out over night....What?...Jackie who?....Oh, never mind.
Barbara Bush - Barbushka! She is real woman, made George Bush I behave himself, but she have trouble with son George Bush II, he not all lit in head - does dumb stuff like not chews the pretzels and chokes:secret:
Ronald Reagan is the greatest President of all-time, hands down. In his 8 years the US was never wealthier, more powerful or more respected. As for the Clintons, how could a scandal-ridden, lying, perjuring, impeached, serial sexual predator be given any consideration for anything other than the "biggest laughing stock" of all-time? As for Hillary? Was there ever a time she wasn't involved in her own scandals? What other first lady can be accused of that? Remember Travel-gate? Whitewater? The land & stock purchases? Foster's death? I guess she is good at covering up though, insm't she. Maybe that's the one skill she has- she certainly hasn't accomplished anything else (name one!) Heck, the Clinton's still have Sandy Burger lurking around stealing documents from the Library of Congress! Okay that's my Clinton rant...it's just that never- in history- has 1 individual done so much to lower the bar of personal integrity & morality for a nation.
