I may be naive here, but out of all the scandals I am hearing about, the gun thing is what bothers me most. Letting guns go to drug cartels so they could track them was criminal in my opinion and the AG is still keeping everything a secret. He had to know aobut this. It was a pretty big operation from what I am reading and if he did not know about this, then he should be fired for imcompency.
The lefties here seem to be avoiding this thread like the plague! Which scenario do you guys think is worse: Holder knowing about it or Holder not knowing about it? Either way it speaks volumes!
I do think it is the President's biggest problem. The gun scandal. It was a problem for Reagan with the Iran-Contra scandal, and I think this could be the same for Obama. As for other scandals, I am not sure those are big enough to damage him that badly, only because we do not know of any others that are as serious as this one. I do think more investigation needs to be done about the solar panel company that got the 1/2 billion dollars to build solar panels and create jobs. That is a little funny there and needs a lot more investigation.
Several "green" companies & their ties to BO's campaign are under scrutiny right now but the WH will use it's power to make them go away. BO is quickly becoming the dirtiest president we have ever had.
Oh, but didn't someone on this forum once state that Obama would go down in history as the greatest president next to Lincoln? Yes. Yes, I think someone did state that.
Not to Republicans he won't. Just like Reagan isn't "god's-gift" to Democrats... more like "the-gift-that-keeps-on-giving".
What else should we expect form BO? Afterall, he is a product of that Chicago racketeering system of politics that has been so profitable for some politicans over the years. His connections to Rezkho were known before the election, he hasn't been shy to reward his largest corprorate donors with billions of taxpayer dollars and his cronies (with deep pockets) seem to populate his government. Crook, crook, crook!
This is the case with every president. They reward the people that help them get elected, that is just a fact. Is it right, no. But it is done by every president. I doubt if we will every get all the problems or deals that every president makes throughout their presidency and I am sure a lot of it is corrupt, but I still think the gun scandal is what needs more investigation. I really do. How does a government let that happen and no one get in trouble for it?
Not even to Obama himself! What an ego this guy must have: http://news.yahoo.com/60-minutes-edits-obama-claim-fourth-best-president-133404689.html
BO's shenanigans go way beyond typical politics....he's corrupt!! His criminal Chicago ways will catch up tp him & he'll be cast off in shame just like Blago.
Now see there, I totally disagree. One of the biggest reasons is that we don't know what his shenanigans are. He may very well be corrupt, I just don't see any evidence of that. But the Cheney/Bush era of politics was the most corrupt, as well as the Clinton years, from what I have heard and read about both of them. Now I have read a lot about Chicago politics and politicians, but just because he came from that area does not automatically make him a crook. And putting him in the same boat the Blagovich is just not right. You don't think the republicans have done all the research they can to try and tie him to that scandal?
What about the gun scandal? What about big donors getting contracts at inflated prices (research jet fuel), what about the taxpayer money (billions!!) going to campaign donors & even overseas? BO's in a class by himself when it comes to corruption.
Ever notice how you have a one-track-mind on the matter and say the same things over and over and over? Libs respond. You ignore the responses. Then you ask again, and again, and again... ...what do you expect libs to do, continue responding to someone who is unwilling to listen to reason?
Very well. The AG should probably be fired and put on trial for the gun-running fiasco, if it's determined he broke the law. Not Obama though, the AG's decisions and actions were independant of the President's from what I know of the system. Solyndra failed because of an unanticipated drop in the market for it's product, due to an unexpected flood of cheaper knock-off panels coming from China. Chinese products shouldn't be allowed into the U.S. so cheaply since they steal our designs, make copies, and sell them back to us. How about these scandals during the Bush, Jr. years?: Any comments on Lewis Libby, Dick Cheney's Chief of Staff, who was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice? How about Alphonso Jackson, the Secretary of Housing and Development under Bush Jr. who resigned while under investigation by the FBI? Karl Rove, who was involved in far too many scandals? "Lawyergate" ring a bell? How about all the emails (possibly up to 5 million)that were destroyed, lost, or deleted... in possible violation of the Presidential Records act as well as the Hatch act. Why did Lurita Alexis Doan, head of the General Services Division resign? She was being investigated for conflict of interest and violations of the Hatch act as well. The Jack Abramoff scandal wasn't pretty, was it? Kyle Foggo, Executive Director of the CIA was convicted of "honest service fraud" after admitting to patronage. Julie MacDonald, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Department of the Interior resigned in 2007 after giving government documents to developers. Lester Crawford, Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration resigned and pled guilty to "conflict of interest" charges. Claude Allen, an advisor on Domestic Policy, appointed by Bush, Jr., resigned after being convicted of a series of felony thefts. The 2003 invasion of Iraq, Darling Street memo: "Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and the facts were being fixed around the policy". The yellowcake forgery where, just prior to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration presented evidence to the UN as if it were true, when it was false. How about the "Coalition Provisional Authority Cash Payment" scandal? Look it up if you're interested. Did you know Bush, Jr. bribed journalists with federal money to say nice things about Republican policies? Did you know that is illegal? Bernard Kerik, a nominee for Secretary of Homeland Security in 2004 pled guilty in 2009 to two counts of tax fraud and five counts of lying to the federal government. Torture, having previously been deemed illegal and unjustifiable by past government officials, was resurrected by the Bush, Jr. administration. Richard Armitage, Deputy Secretary of State, leaked an undercover CIA's agents name to the press in retaliation for her husbands criticism of Bush, Jr.'s attempt to legitimize the invasion of Iraq. Armitage was not sanctioned. Thomas A. Scully, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services resigned after he withheld info from Congress and threatened to fire Richard Foster if he provided the info to Congress himself. NSA warrantless surveilance, now illegal, was secretly implemented by Jr. Kenneth Lay, a member of the Republican National Commitee, a financial donor to Jr., and once considered for Secretary of the Treasury was found guilty of ten counts od securities fraud. Janet Rehnquist, Inspector General of the DHHS, resigned while being investigated for delaying the auditing of a $571 million federal overpayment to the State of Florida for five months... until after the upcoming elections. While I doubt most people will do more than skim the scandals above, I think I made my point. If not, I can add more... and there's always daddy Bush and Reagan to look into... they had some real zingers.
