Very insightful of you to realize that's exactly what happened with the National Socialists. Very insightful, indeed.
That is absolutely true. It's easier to see faults in others than one's self. I keep that in mind as often as I can. I'm just saying a jar labeled "pickles" is pretty accurate for most people, they know what it is. "Socialism" is far more complicated though, and what happens is people simplify it, making it a less accurate description. I look at the changing of a baby's diaper as an act of "Socialism", but that doesn't fit into a lot of people's view...and that's the point I'm making ---> the label isn't accurate. (looks to 'fridge) I so want a pickle now.
Yup. Good analogy here. There are so many different types of pickles and even more when it comes to pickling. Gherkins, dills, garlic dills bread and butter and the list goes on. Then what about the brands available? Vlasic, Mount Olive, Claussen etc.? How about your own or your Mom's great recipe? As for pickling in general. One can drink too much and be labeled "pickled". Then there are other things we pickle. Herring, beets, beans, pig's feet, melon rinds, asparagus, onions. Damn near anything really. Heck, I have a jar of kimchi in my fridge. Has pickled Napa cabbage and long radish amongst other ingredients. Don't forget sauerkraut. Love the stuff. Good pickled cabbage. So why am I extrapolating here so much? IQ pointed it out really. Massive generalization. Have a piece of pickled herring then a bit of kimchi and honestly tell me it's the same. Then tell me how a group of people you don't agree with are all the same. You can't do it
...(walks up to podium, begins speaking)... As Candidate, I ...will ...not ...stand ...for gherkin, whatever that is...(smiles creepily politically) Nah, I checked the 'fridge..."Milwaukee's", a kind of generic brand... my son loves 'em. When he was younger, he used to make his own (with his grandma's help). One year, as a present, I bought the biggest jar I could find...in part to try to get him sick of 'em...didn't work of course...lol
