We need to go back to the days when coke was in cola and you could get morphine with no prescription.

  2. eddo

    eddo I don't like you.

Now that is a decent discussion. Maybe you should have started with that statement.

I, too, never really understood why steroid use in baseball was a case for a federal grand jury. but like Snafu said, it's illegal. Do something illegal, lie about it under oath, and you will likely get in to trouble.

Bill Clinton wasn't impeached for adultery. He was impeached for lying under oath. Adultery isn't illegal, but he still felt a need to lie about it. Lying under oath needs to carry some sort of penalty to protect the integrity of the judicial system- which may not be perfect, but it is about the best system that the world has today.

What I propose is we pressure the government to appoint a Flax Seed oil Czar or Tzar, (Ruskies weren't too bright) and create a new division of the homeland security department, whereas, we create 100,000 new jobs at the stroke of a pen and solve all of our economic problems in the process.

Don't forget about all the new fringe jobs this will create as well..Prison construction and people to gaurd those prison should create millions alone...

He wasn't. He was testifying in the Federal case dealing with Balco and doping of US Olympic Athletes. Bonds name (along with dozens of other names of athletes, many not in baseball, who also testified) came up in the investigation as a person illegally using steroids provided by Balco.

It wasn't just a "US Government, picking on baseball or racially motivated witch hunt for Bonds, as his attorney wants people to think (I screwed up. Now what. I know, I'm black so lets use the race card). You testify in a Federal Grand Jury and lie. You should be punished. However, I do think the punishment should definitely reflect on how much, if any, your lie hindered the investigation or case at hand.

It's not Barry, steroids, adultry, perjury... try looking deeper and remember this is America.. Land of the free, home of the brave.. With a government unmatched in the history of the world in the quantity of direct and indirect involvment in the lives of it's citizens.. Why doesn't someone tell me what is untouched by the hand of the federal government. Wake up, please, before we lose it all...

Perhaps that's why we merely like to talk about freedom so much, like those who need to convince themselves of a lie.

They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security.~ Benjamin Franklin

If you want to be free, there is but one way; it is to guarantee an equally full measure of liberty to all your neighbors. There is no other. ~ Carl Shurz

Wez can you tell me of any county that isn't touched by their government? We have to live with many people. With this diversity we need laws that the majority can agree upon. To obtain these laws we need legislation. Then we need a police force to uphold these laws. I mean get real. Our government has flaws but it's the best one out there. If you don't like something you have a right to try and change it.

Just to let you know, adultery is illegal in washington DC and has up to a 5 year penalty per event, interesting.........

As snafu says, we are a nation of laws, laws are needed to hold the nation together, remove those laws and no society.

How many laws would we have if we allowed someone to get rid of them just because someone did not like them? If we all picked one law we don't like, we go to zero laws and chaos starts.

Wez, if you don't like the idea of people getting in trouble for telling lies under oath, then what should people get in trouble for?

Do you believe in any laws?

Is everybody so stupid they need to be told what's right and wrong? Fine then.. enjoy.

I believe in natural laws, the ones that come from within.

I hear ya. You want whats right for the American public along with the world. I wish ever body thought like you wez. But they don't and that's the problem. We have to deal with idiots but most of all we have to deal with evil. There's no way around it. evil is (or what each individual perceives evil is) an entity that has existed since the begging of time. It's a fact of life. In order to restrain this entity we need rules. They might not fit everybody but they are needed. If unchecked the evil would devour our existance.

Natural laws are survival of the fittest wez, is that what you want?

Go to the wilderness and watch how understanding and polite nature really is Wez and come back here to tell me how much you support that.

Society needs laws to maintain order.

When a human being is advanced in intelligence, they don't need to kill and harm other humans to survive. Don't you believe in the natural laws Jesus spoke of?

Hahahahaha... Where did Jesus not speak of law?

Being as you have already said you hate everything religious, you have no idea what Jesus spoke of or the context it was said to give it true meaning.

Your only agenda is to spew the most hateful and ugly crap you can every where you go.

By the way, being as man has a long and very detailed history of violence, obviously you are wrong, but I will say that is a shame.

Laws are made because of the reality of man to tend tword harming others and the need to protect the weak.

Look at yourself, you are hiding behind a computer screen atttacking people, being completely unreasonable, being hurtful and spiteful in almost every post you make. You lie about things you know nothing about and when people like me point out how wrong you are, you turn to personal attacks and vulgar language to try and hide being wrong.

I believe every word Jesus said.. And do you really feel the need to make personal attacks and false accusations in every thread on this forum and run around claiming it's someone else?

Someone else being the person you do it to...

F*cking A moron... Get some help. Hahahahahaha

    you mean like this:
You have already admitted to not being a believer and the thing Jesus spoke about the most was God and the life after this life. If you believe every word Jesus spoke, then you believe that you are damned right?

More of your personal attacks I see, clearly you are a mental midget.

You get what you give with me, f*ckhead, try to intimidate me.. I'm immune. Kinda blows your whole world theory to sh*t, doesn't it? I'm not afraid to die... get it?

Getting rid of me and my beliefs on the militaries of the world from your personal view, will not make the beliefs go away.. I assure you, I'm not the only one.. Can't handle someone disagreeing with you? Army teach teach you how to try to mind f*ck people into seeing things your way, or else? Good for you.

Funny stuff, again, you are proven wrong, you dodge the facts that you are scared of and start in with the personal attacks, but I will not let you get away with it this time.

You say you believe every word Jesus said and I offered you this quote:

Jesus mostly told the world about God, if you say you believe in everything he said that means you believe in God, and being as you have admitted to rejecting God, you must be damned right?

Have you lost your soul like Jesus points out?

You can't cherry pick the things Jesus said you like and ignore the rest, you said you believe everything he said so now face the reality of every word my friend.

    If you dare.

    Proven wrong about what exactly?

Jesus told the world about themselves, made them feel guilty, and was killed for it. Where did I reject God? Why do you bear false witness against me?

    No, I found it.

What words of Jesus would you like to discuss? Lets face the reality of every word. I'm ready.

JS Mill best defines natural law. It was natural law concepts that guided our founding fathers.

JS Mill from "On Liberty". If you only read one book in your lifetime "On Liberty" should be the book.
