This is a thread that has been posted by various individuals over time to see what fellow posters collect. Being that we seem to be a subgroup within the group I thought that it would be appropriate to rethread this thread here.
So anyone who wishes to post on this thread I make one request:
Lets be cool with each other on this topic. After all it is about coins and I would love to hear my dear friend Moen describe his Stalinist coins in peace.

Uhhhhhh? I have no idea what you are referring to. I have tons of foreign coins but they were given to me and I haven't even bothered to look through them. I only collect American coins and some stamps. Stalin had coins? He never mentioned it.

I would have never guessed that you collected nickels. Go figure. I saw the jefferson picture and thought two dollar bill man.

Moen you are in good form today on all threads. When is the next standup act.

ok you got me, "nickels" is actually the laymans term. In reality I arc-weld cut the jefferson obverse onto state quarters, and in a rather complicated manuever laser cut a perfect monticello with full steps off a pristine 2003-P and super glue it onto the reverse. You should see my collection.. it's all perfect :)

Collecting British Commonwealth is my speciality. My latest purchase is the very scarce & underrated 1947C Newfoundland 1c.
coin, which was sold to me by Bill Brown (bromac4),who found it at a coin show in Winnipeg,Manitoba. We see the odd Newfoundland coin over here in New Zealand, mainly the 1941C 1c. & 5c.,but very seldom any other coins.

bohica, you collect world coins 1746 to date? is that because 1746 has a special meaning or because 1746 is your earliest dated world coin? Just wondering if the date has a special purpose is all.

As for myself, I collect all sorts of stuff. Whatever catches my eye is the determining factor, however I have found that my website developement has really helped me see what my tastes lean toward.

Nothing special about the date. It's just the oldest world coin in the collection. It's a copper 1 DUIT from NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES (KM70).
