This thread should be renamed, " We need a VIDEO post...", because everyone (present company included) posts a YouTube video along with the song lyrics. Which at first, I thought was neat because we have the ability to post a video from that site. I have since changed my mind. Not flip-flopping, just rationalizing the situation.

Now my thinking is, why are we posting videos in a lyrics post? I now feel as though a video, even if it is by the original artist, takes away something personal and/or unique from the song's lyrics.

 

There is one that was supposed to be for music videos. It was made after someone posted the video for "Frankenstein" on here, and it doesn't have any lyrics and I made a joke about it.

God Nirvana sucked!

 

When I created it the first time my intentions were to come up with songs with profound lyrics. Now it's getting inundated with youtube video's. And so much that I'm sure nobody goes through them all. That's why I only try to post one at a time (wez) and not that often.

 

I think it's OK to post a video to accompany the song lyrics, but the key word is, "accompany". The lyrics should be first and formost. IMO
