For all my fellow Veterans, thank you for your service. I also thank the family members of our Vets for all of their sacrifices. Every year our numbers decline.
I go to the kids ceremony at school. I can’t say no to the free coffee and pastries…. They had a retired sergeant major that was now a teacher in the school as speaker. He served in Afghanistan and told these kids that the general populace in Afghanistan were illiterate and that if they wanted to thank a veteran for his service, that was fine…. But put that appreciation into action by utilizing and getting all they could out of the educational opportunities that was afforded them by veterans service…… I thought that was the best Veterans Day message I had ever heard for youngsters. And I’ll be back next year for the coffee and pastries….
Sorry I'm late to the forum. I thank you Vets for your service. @Profiler As you indicated, we are declining in numbers, but our spirit will never die.
Better late than never. You are absolutely correct, the spirit will never die. Notice that not ONE our leftist friends have even acknowledged this post at all. Telling, isn’t it?
Unfortunately, not many of the young generation know what Veteran's are or what sacrifices they have made for this Country.
Unfortunately, it’s not just limited to the youth, many spawn of the greatest generation think the same way.
