From time to time we have little earthquakes in the UK. But I have never noticed one happening before, that is until now.

At about 01.00 AM this morning, I was in bed, but I was not asleep. The whole house began to shake. This was amusing raher than frightening, as I thought I'd imagined it.

At the time I said to myself- your half asleep. And of course I had had a few beers. Tis morning though I,m reading about the earthquake lol. The boffins are saying it was a 5.2 on the scale

How was it for you Feckless ? Did the bedroom move for you too !!!!!!!!

I was hoping to experience one when I was in California a couple years back.. no such luck. Be fun, away from a city and anything else that can fall..

We used to have them all the time back in the day. They aren't as frequent now. I was 6 years old when we had the 1964 earthquake up here in Alaska. After that we had hundreds of trimmers. I kinda think they're neat now. I do have respect for them though. First thing you should do is not panic. Next stay were you are and look up. Most injuries are from running into falling debrie.

It's also a good idea to either get under a sturdy table or stand in a doorway (from what I've heard).

Yeah Valdez and some of the islands went under water. I had a friend that lived in Valdez and he said without a word, after the earthquake they all started up the hill. He said he saw what looked like the whole ocean empty and fill Valdez twice.

That was smart.. the pre-emptying brings a lot of unknowing to the shore to gawk. Thank god. Some of that footage is unreal..
