The American Medical Association really hasn't declared the use of Twitter.com as a symptom of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, but surely the connection is there.

I think the same goes for Facebook et al....are they really anything more than brag pages?

I have never understood twitter. I do use Facebook. I have kept in contact (and re-connected) with people from HS, College, the Air Force, even with people from forums that I no longer follow.

I have no interest in twitter but I am on facebook by the suggestion of a friend. I do not discuss coins, religion or politics but I have found one very handy use for it.
I have connected with old friends and even managed to track down some family members.
I spend very little time there but three weeks ago when my sister in law's mother and my wife's mother passed away within a few days of one another we were able to get the word around faster than by phone.

Never tried twitter but Facebook has opend up a world of stamp and postcard trading oppertunities for me that I have not had previously, so thats fun. Coins I can do on CT and other forums :D
It also helps me to keep in touch with people, dont see to much bragging though

One of the things I use Facebook for is sharing photos with friends and family. It might be a big bragging, as any parent is proud of their kids, but it's not really on the narcissistic level I think.

Unlike here with those constant reminders of how one worked thier way through college, or of the toil and rewards of being a gentleman farmer. Or even just showing off a coin that one is proud of.

Jealous craig? Or just in denial that someone can make a pretty good life for themselves by working hard? I know it flies in the face of everything you hold dear but it can be done...and I don't mind offering up my own example when you & your liberal ilk preach the "easy way out".

By the way, you spelled "their" incorrectly! Please refer back to your post in another thread regarding grammer.

....please refer back to blah blah. Wow a mistake. Uh oh. You got me good man. Again talking without knowing. You were talking about how 'twitter' was self gratifying. Why would I be jealous of the likes of you, farmboy? So you worked your way through school. great. so do thousands of others. And some get scholarships. And some have thier parents pay. That doesnt make you any more honorable. But you go on about it so. You say it once and thats enough. But not you. Hey look at me. Me. Me. Me. Thats what you are all about. you dont know me, so dont presume you do. It makes you look like that other imbecile.

Once again, when your kind is quick to lower the bar & take the easy way out, I just wanted to provide a real testimonial that, despite your beliefs, hard work can & does pay off. You call it bragging, I call it every day responsibility. When the day comes that you libs stop ridiculing self-reliance & personal responsibility this country will become a better place.

You are just responding for the sake of responding. You dont even bother to read the post. You call telling everyone over and over and over that you worked your way through school taking responsibility? That doesnt even make sense. Then again most of your posts dont. You are so petty.

Paying your own way isn't responsible? Really?
You claim to have some conservative values but when you give you enough attention you always let slip those deeply held radical lefty sentiments. Good job!

Paying your own way is taking responsibility it is only BEING responsible. You just arent phrasing your diatribe correctly. And values are just values. They dont have political allegiance.
