Just starting this thread to continue a conversation with @What U ignore that drifted pretty far off topic of another thread. 1. Technically false, but I could see why in the spirit rather than the letter of the law it would be true. 2. False. Straight up, and yes I do know the speech you're referring to. 3. False, I don't actually think they said it was open or closed. They didn't comment specifically because that's just partisan rhetoric that doesn't need to be legitimized. 4. True. Just true.
Thanks for your reply. Twitter, your sources of information, and your comprehension of the English language have failed you miserably. So sad. Posting with you and your ilk has proved that I AM THE ONLY FOOL around here.
Does anybody know if Mrs. Clinton visited Martha's Vineyard last week to welcome the newest visitors to our Shores, and invite them to dinner and to give them a hearty good old USA welcome to America handshake?
I assume that happened, but I am not sure. It is not like it was a Benghazi thing, and I assume it was not dangerous and if it was, what difference would it make, since the local fathers requested National Guard Troops to be on hand for any "shenaniganigans".
The Hilderbeast has been busy with her new reality TV show "Gutsy". However, it would have been a good episode if she had gone to Martha's Vineyard to meet and greet the "gutsy" ladies who fled socialist Venezuela for a much better life in America. But, no, no one has seen hide nor hair of her. And I literally mean "hide nor hair". Here she is in a still frame from her reality TV show: And just to keep in the spirit of this thread, this picture is: TRUE
I feel fulfilled, having hijacked a clown thread, that has clown pictures and everything. Maybe she would have shown up if it was a lady or 2 from Benghazi, but then again, what the hell difference does it make?
GeneWright, posted: "Well, then go 1 by 1 and prove me wrong." No thanks. I have absolutely no interest in remaining a fool by discussing these very old news stories with you as it was my attempt to find common ground we could start from. I know a lost cause when I see it. For example, you answered #2 this way: "2. False. Straight up, and yes I do know the speech you're referring to." You have seen the video, heard the words out of her mouth, seen our history & culture being changed/torn down; yet you don't believe your own lying eyes. So sad. Gene, I wish you well; and hope the bird of knowledge flies up your nose - eventually.
I said false because she never said "culture" and because she was speaking specifically to people of color in Puerto Rico, not referring to American tradition/history in general.
LOL. In the country where I was born and live, our language, history, and tradition = THE AMERICAN CULTURE! Yo time is up... "CLICK"
I like how the right is constantly like "leave the country if you're not happy" but then when you actually do leave, they resent you for it. Especially if you enjoy life in the new country. That's some real cult behavior.
You left out a caveat, it’s leave and renounce your citizenship. If it’s so much better in the place you/others are, why haven’t you or them done so?
I'm not convinced that's it. Consistently I find the fact I'm not geographically in the U.S. thrown in my face as a way to dismiss me. Less so here at PL (save for a few members), but I've seen it in other forums as well. I've never said if I'm planning on leaving forever or not, mostly because I don't know. The mere fact I'm not living in the United States currently is enough for some people to dismiss my opinion.
Please quit the pity party. Everyone has a backside and opinion. The fact that you don't live in the country means that things happening here MAY NOT affect you as much; and you have less influence to do anything about it. . I don't resent you living and working out of the country at all. I resent your ignorance in spite of what appears to be an above average IQ! The USA is on the downslide because of ignorance, open borders, uncontrolled debt, corrupt politicians, progressives, etc. IMO, it is a very smart move to get the heck out if you can. You are not the first to do this and will not be the last.
There is a practical reason that expats do not void their U.S. Citizenship status. When the poop hits the fan, U.S. Citizens are Priority boarding by law, when the the U.S. rescue aircraft arrive. The only time that did not work well is.....what was that place? I forgot...oh yeah, Afghanistan. I knew it was one of the Stans. Oh well, wadaryagonnado?
It was not up to the FBI to bring charges. The head of the corrupt Justice Department ducked that duty!
The most important thing that I learned living abroad, was how much you learn about your own country while living outside of its borders. It is hard to explain to someone that hasn't spent time overseas that much of your daily life is dictated by the consumerism, the media, the small "p" propaganda you are exposed to night and day. You just don't have the same frame of reference as people that have traveled and seen firsthand how America differs from the rest of the planet, and believe me, it isn't all good. For the most part, people like Americans even if they find America itself somewhat of a spoiled child. The ugly American stereotype (Imagine Trump if you will) isn't without some degree of truth. Especially, the military personnel temporarily living abroad. They tend to be avoided by fellow Americans living abroad. I know that I would rarely venture to an area where Americans are known to congregate because it is mostly military personnel, not tourists or ex-pats. Nobody wants to be associated with these wide-eyed dumb as dirt kids when living overseas. There is just no upside to living in a country and being allied with these ignorant military kids. Living abroad certainly doesn't turn you against your country of origin. In fact, you learn to appreciate some of the unique aspects of your own country that many of us take for granted. The real gift to living overseas is that you broaden your perspective. You more easily see both the positive and the negative aspects of your own country, aspects that the people that have never lived abroad just don't see. As far as the dismissiveness towards the people living abroad goes, it reminds me of the words of a song by Michelle Shocked called Memories of East Texas. Singing about a small town that can't accept someone that had traveled and grew as a result. So, I'll leave you with those words. Their lives ran in circles so small They thought they'd seen it all And they couldn't make a place for A girl who'd seen the ocean
