That is basically the type of teaching I mentioned earlier. Give them nothing, point them towards something that doesn't exist, and say 'Good Luck!'
In order to cure the dependance, you need to remove the supply and supplier. The teaching does not necessarily mean you have to put the pole in their hand and throw it in the water.
Do you know why Right wingers attach themselves to clichés about self-sufficiency? It plays into their selfish, money worshipping, me-me-me characteristics and maintains their position at the top of the ladder even though they achieved that position during the 20th century rife with racial prejudice, discrimination against women, and a society that completely catered to their class. Given all the privilege they were afforded, now they want people to be self-sufficient. How convenient.
Blanket statements really do make you look foolish, bitter & envious. Speaking as one of the righties you so love to attack, I can assure you I am not selfish, I do not worship money & I do not harbor any me-me-me mentality. I wasn't a member of the Dim party so do not accuse me of racial prejudice (I wasn't keeping blacks out of the schools or turning the dogs on protesters) and I can certainly assure you that I wasn't born to privilege. My beliefs were formed as one who did it all on their own & became self-sufficient. I see examples everyday of the dependence & multi-generational poverty that liberal "compassion" has created.
Are you trying to say that you do not want people to be self sufficient? Really? BTW, funny you should bitch about racial and sexual prejudices. See;
You may not personally do those things but you support a political party that has deep roots in doing exactly those things. And for God's sake don't lecture anyone about blanket statements here. This entire forum is nothing but blanket statements and YOU of all people are easily on the top of the list of people that routinely use blanket statements so climb down off of your high horse and Pleeeeeeez! check back into reality. I have never so much as received a small inheritance from a dead relative mostly because my relatives were so poor. I got where I am today by working hard as did my wife and we owe no one anything. That doesn't mean that I have the illusion that everyone has the advantages I had nor the opportunities ether. Many people were born into far worse situations than I was and I can't begrudge them help along the way to give them a leg up if needed. I don't see them as ALL lazy welfare queens the way you do and I can't fault them for being born into a system that not only doesn't favor them but actually works against them. In other words, my success is not standard be which everyone else’s success or failure should be judged and neither is yours. You just don't seem to get that and I doubt that you ever will.
Awfully defensive you are. Guess you are still in the closet. Calling you a gay boy is the same as calling you an *******. They are just insults, learn how to take one would ya! Now why should I tell you about my career path when you won't even tell us about what type of degree you have and what University issued it. I guess you wouldn't mind if your lawyer attended Cooley Law School instead of Harvard Law, but just about everyone else would. Since you apparently have trouble understanding even the most basic posts, I will dumb this down for you. I am saying that your degree, no matter what level (PHD?), is a Mickey Mouse degree achieved by taking easy courses at a substandard academic institution. I invite you to prove me wrong by telling us about your academic credentials.
So you have been reduced to making one line insults now huh? Did it hurt? Your fall off your high horse!
I already proved it by showing how your explanation of the infamous "as easily the highest educated person in this forum" post was bull.
What behavior would that be, like making an off topic post on a forum with the sole intention of insulting another forum member.
Never been in a union myself. I think with unions, you take the bad with the good. It is the only voice the worker has. We ALL owe unions a lot. You wouldn't have a weekend, child labor laws, sick pay, vacations, workplace safety rules, or a whole host of other workers rights without the help of unions. These things weren't just given by friendly employers, they had to be fought for. I know unions have had to employ some of the same strong arm tactics that employers used to use against their employees but unions would have been outgunned if they hadn't. I don't know how you can lay the entire blame on unions for strong arm tactics when it was ruthless business owners that invented them in the first place. Know your history and you’d be far more objective about unions.
You proved it by showing me something else I said??? How does that work? Oh, in your vivid imagination. I see.
Not my fault that you are too stupid to understand. Perhaps if you had a real education from a real University, you wouldn't have that problem. I Dont care how you try disguising it Profanity is not allowed, I have edited enough post of yours recently that it should have got through to you If you do it again you can expect to take another vacation Now is that clear enough for you?
He seems to enjoy playing stupid lately. He is real good at that. Sometimes I wonder if he is playing. p.s. Just to be sure, it was not my language you edited
Nope. I never heard that saying. How's it go? ooh. I have one. Have you ever heard the saying 'Give a man a fish and go____ yourself'? Thats the umpteenth time youve used that hackneyed cliche. Retire it already or find some new homilys.
