Look at the picture below and tell me why Greg Abbot has not "walked a mile in [her] shoes".

Opponent: He’s “Never Walked In My Shoes”

It’s just getting worse and worse for abortion activist Wendy Davis, who is falling on her own sword in the Texas gubernatorial race.
First, Davis was caught by a Dallas newspaper lying about her story of being a single mom who overcame adversity. Then, she sought to blame her problems on pro-life candidate for governor Greg Abbott. Now, in attacking Abbot, she’s stuck her foot in her mouth saying he’s “never walked a mile in my shoes.”
Problem is, Abbott can’t. He’s a paraplegic who is confined to a wheelchair. As a conservative blog notes:
[IMG]There’s a lot in the Wendy Davis story besides Davis and her constructed and false “narrative.” Here is one of Davis’ most recent official statements on the matter, a little masterpiece of accusing the accusers:
We’re not surprised by Greg Abbott’s [her Texas governorship opponent] campaign attacks on the personal story of my life as a single mother who worked hard to get ahead. But they won’t work, because my story is the story of millions of Texas women who know the strength it takes when you’re young, alone and a mother. I’ve always been open about my life not because my story is unique, but because it isn’t.
The truth is that at age 19, I was a teenage mother living alone with my daughter in a trailer and struggling to keep us afloat on my way to a divorce. And I knew then that I was going to have to work my way up and out of that life if I was going to give my daughter a better life and a better future and that’s what I’ve done. I am proud of where I came from and I am proud of what I’ve been able to achieve through hard work and perseverance. And I guarantee you that anyone who tries to say otherwise hasn’t walked a day in my shoes.”
Since Abbott doesn’t walk at all, it’s a rather infelicitous figure of speech, don’t you think?
[IMG]Patrick Archbold at Creative Minority Report opines on the Davis gaffe.
So as liars tend to do when cornered, they lie some more, attacking her opponent as being the one responsible for the truth coming out about her lies. She criticized him for not knowing how difficult her life has been saying he “never walked a day in my shoes.”
Well, that is correct. He never walked a day in her shoes because he is a paraplegic. Her poor opponent will never know how difficult things have been for her.

I like that he went after a large music company for adding malicious spyware to cds. I understand why they added it, but I don't like it.

I don't care about his fight for the ten commandments being placed in public spaces personally, but I don't like it as a rule because it's not appropriate for our government to promote religion in any way.

The only way I even knew that much about him was from this thread peaking my interest in just who the guy is.

Better yet, let's look at the Tea Party's sexist comments.

A tea party activist, attorney and former executive director of South Carolina's Republican Party went on a spree of sexist attacks on Texas gubernatorial candidate and state Sen. Wendy Davis (D) last week.

Todd Kincannon, who resigned from his leadership role at the GOP organization in 2010, linked Davis to prostitution, drugs and Monica Lewinsky after a Dallas Morning News article pointed out some discrepancies in the stories Davis has told about her background -- including when she was officially divorced from her first husband (at 21, not 19), how long she lived in a mobile home and how she paid for law school.

In the wake of the revelations, Kincannon and other conservatives launched attacks on Davis' background and argued that she was a negligent parent for attending Harvard Law School in the early 1990s while her second husband took care of her children:

Wendy Davis has done even more to damage modern feminism than Monica Lewinsky playing Human Humidor with Bill Clinton in the Oval Office.

The best thing about the Wendy Davis fiasco is this: It proves that you can still call a whore a whore. Feminazis ain't won yet, my friends.

"In other news, Wendy Davis took a short break from blowing 'campaign contributors' today to condemn remarks made by Mike Huckabee..."

Kinkannon told HuffPost Live last year that he tweets inflammatory comments because he enjoys "watching people go nuts."

"One of the things I like to do on Twitter is I'll tweet something inflammatory, kind of borderline crazy-sounding just for fun. And I enjoy watching people go nuts," Kinkannon said. "One of the best things about it is if you say something that's borderline offensive or if it is offensive, the people that attack you and say just the awfulest [sic] things about you, they do the very thing that they accuse you of."
