The Worst Is Yet To Come

I am very disheartened by the Speech. There is no excuse for AGAIN referring to the previous POTUS actions as a defense for the current actions of POTUS. The 2 choices he states he was left with, and the posit that he picked the lessor of 2 evils, when in fact there were NO deaths of U.S. Troops since the draw down and we were maintaining a status quo, the same method we use in the Far East and Europe, and doing so with 2500 troops, was working, with the Afghanistan Armed Forces doing the heavy lifting, was working. Why not continue? The present POTUS also mischaracterized the previous POTUS Agreement, because it was made with the legitimate Afghanistan government in full Agreement. It was a conditions based Agreement, and the Taliban had violated the Agreement on 4 known incidents for which the U.S. responded militarily, and the U.S. stated it would reserve the Right to leave Troops in support of the recognized Afghanistan government.

My 2nd dismay is the VERY convoluted math concerning the economics and the debt. 300 million a day for 20 years? Then 3o Trillion and 150 million a year for 30 years? What the heck is going on with the proof reading and math checking?

My 3rd. dismay is what the hell does bombing Yemen have to do with going to war against the Taliban in Afghanistan?
Is the entire justification for the method of withdrawal going to be based on 20 years of confused understanding of the history by the present POTUS?

The World is watching this. The baloney as justification that China and the Soviet Union want nothing better than to see us "tied up" in Afghanistan for another 20 years, while at the same time ignoring the length of time our Troops have been stationed in Korea, Europe, and Africa, appears out of touch with reality.

I am definitely concerned.

Technically, Donald Trump could be elected Speaker of the House should the GOP regain the House. The Speaker doesn't need to be a Member of Congress. That would add an interesting chapter to the story!

Do you not understand the war ended quite awhile ago, and the responsibility for military operations was turned over to the Afghanistan Military and the legitimate Afghanistan government? If I wanted to destroy this place with countless trolls to give the illusion that my opinions are more valid, I would have gone over to Reddit or even The Democratic Underground and flooded this forum with like-minded individuals. However, that would have been cowardly.

As I watch the Taliban drive around in all the military vehicles we left behind, I'm thinking that we should have rigged them all with hidden explosives that we could detonate remotely.
