The truth about the CBO Report & budget deficit reduction

A lot of stock has been placed in the findings of the CBO in regard to the budget deficit reduction aspect of BO's healthcare plan. Care to hear some of the facts?

The CBO is REQUIRED to estimate the budgetary impact of a bill based on the projected numbers and estimated results supplied by who? That's right, the folks proposing the bill. So the study on the impact of Obamacare was based on the numbers supplied by the BO admin and their projections on what they expect to happen over the next several years. Remember phony job creation? Can you trust BO's numbers?
Half (that's right 1/2 of the total savings as calculated by the CBO) of the projected savings from the Obamacare legislation come from a measure unrelated to healthcare in any way, shape or form. These savings come from a proposal to reform the student loan system & there is no guarantee that it will even remain in the final bill.
Nearly a third of the deficit reduction comes from a tax increase on your insurance benefits. This is a tax that union workers & members of other special interest groups will not have to pay. What about that campaign promise not to raise taxes on families making less than $250,000 a year? Blew that one all to hell, didn't he?
$400 million of the savings are a result of limiting Medicare payments to doctors. This aspect has already been addressed by Nancy Pelosi as the first piece of the bill that needs to be changed!!

These facts sure can be pesky things.

C'mon people, this is all smoke & mirrors! This is nothing more than BO's duty to repay the money people that got him elected. They don't give a flip about what's good for the country, all they want is a consolidation of power & see the healthcare system as n ideal way to control our lives.

 

But of course if the CBO were projecting some Bush policy as deficit reducing you and Fox news would be spewing it ad naseum, even more than the current Obama bashing. By the way..TWO TRILLION DOLLAR deficit, from a surplus. Tell us again how wonderful republican leadership would be again??

 

One also has to take into account that the bill is adding about 15 million people to Medicaid. And Medicaid is shared by the states. Is that included in the 'budget neutral' figures? Is it any better for the states to raise taxes on everyone or have more massive budget deficits that they have to cut even more funds for? Here in Illinois, they are so far behind in funding schools that every night on the news there are more and more layoffs in our schools. More programs cut. More buildings not getting fixed, etc, etc. Not to mention that doctors have been dropping Medicaid because it doesn't pay them enough. So the Feds will have to raise those payments as they add that 15 million new folks.

But, really, it doesn't matter which of the 2 parties of fools is in charge of Washington. Neither feels they have to pay for anything any more.

 

SILENT on that subject huh? Next time you make a big deal about me ignoring your supposed "points" Davey, here ya go. That was a TWO TRILLION deficit from a 200 million surplus. How's that free market thing work again??

What is The CBO a non biased calculator of numbers. Much like XCEL . Garbage in Garbage out. It does not deal with truth, party, or needs, or lack there of.
It is a tool that can be manipulated by what you put in it.

 

You answer my points honestly, don't dodge anything, and I'll do the same. How's that? Doubt you can educate me since you don't have a clue about many issues anyway, but, have at it genius.

What bothers me are hypocrits that blast everything that an elected president from the other side of the aisle tries to do simply for the sake of obstructing. Speaking of the rich..we'll all need to watch out now that health care law is actually now the law. The right wingers are p*ssed. Liable to be some other 2001ish event or some other similar distraction (like bombing Iran) that will precede the right's attempt at returning to power. There will be something...you can bet on it and, of course, it will be all the socialist Obama led dems that it'll be pinned on. After all, how else would they get back in power absent some "paralyzing and catastrophic event"? Hmmm...seems that I read that phrase somewhere before. Oh yeah! Having to resort to nursery rhymes when responding to the truth is a sign of Fox disease you know. The new health care LAW might be able to help you though. Just don't tell them you're republican, and they might even pray for you. People of strong moral character will help you despite your disgust for the common man.

 

Hey, how about just letting me opt-out of Obamcare entirely? Does that level of freedom fit into your vision of what our country should look like? You still get to benefit from the taxes I pay but there will be no expenses associated with me or my family. How can that not be a good deal?
