Exactly! You can bet that this 4F-stay at home freeloader has been on the 'take' for a long time, and don't want any one to come between him and his pay check. Thus all the opposition. He has time to sit around the house and think up all the **** he puts out, and draws a disability check for doing it. Now I know he will say I'm prejudice, but in fact I'm only being honest in my oppinion of his kind. So he can call it what ever he wants to, it don't change the facts.
I don't get social security or any military benefits. I'm not sucking off of the government right now but I bet some of you can't say that. I have never seen a dime from the government except what I can get back in a tax refund. My sources of income are really none of your business and you probably feel that the government owes for being in the military or for being an old degenerate but I would like to see you guys take your monthly checks and mail them back to the Feds, then you can spout off at someone that has worked to make a comfortable life for himself and his family. Sorry, but jealously is just so ugly.
I know that I work well into the month of May for the government before I start enjoying the fruits of my labor...which will be taxed again too if heaven forbid, I enjoy capital gains. And if I die, my heirs will be taxed too! When is it enough? The top 50% of all wage earners pay over 96% of all taxes collected and that doesn't seem to be ENOUGH for you. So I ask, how much more do you want? More: in addition to. Just thought I will help you with the definition. Liberals have cried out that those that work and produce are not paying their 'fair share" when every report from the I.R.S. and C.B.O. proves otherwise. So you want more...how much MORE should tax paying workers and producers provide for the government?
So you continue to refuse to answer my questions. I guess you don't really have any answers after all do you? Here, I'll post them again.
Then perhaps you should reword your post which offered such opportunity. Meoff, when ones serves 20 plus years in the Military and they decide to call it quits it's called retirement. Same as Bus-Drivers, Chemists, Cops, Mule-Skinners, Lawyers, and Cooks. "R E T I R E M E N T" We get back what we paid in plus some (usually 2/3rds) by the company/government we served. And yes, your source of income will be discussed and pondered so long as you banter about ours. These are telling words indeed.
And you are sucking off of the government right now because they owe you right? How noble of you to be a patriot and serve your country and then expect to be paid for doing so. Most people in this country have to be 65 to retire but not you special patriots. You are owed. I didn't question your incomes, you guys questioned mine. Read above and see.
Feds should manage the following: 1.) National defense 2.) Border control...ties into #1 3.) Infrastructure. For example, the Eisenhower interstate system was a huge success. 4.) Interstate Commerce 5.) State department functions to promote business with the United States 6.) National parks and reserves 7.) FDA 8.) FCC Just to name a few... What I would eliminate right away: 1.) Department of Education (enacted since 1977) and hence a WASTE as a payback to the N.E.A. 2.) Social Secuity...which is a joke.
I guess you can call me lucky... BTW, the military retirement system has been with us since Roman Times and the United States of America saw no problem with instituting its own in Roman Fashion. Part of the land my little brother and I now own in Texas was practically given to my dad thru the WWII GI Bill. One of the benefits of serving my country was getting paid while doing it along with other intangible goodies which only a retired military member can understand.. Now as to incomes and their sources the key words "This Thread..." were omitted by you in earlier posts here.
So in a nutshell, you are for bullets, fences, roads, business interests, government owned land, federal control of consumables and Federal control of the airwaves. Interesting... And you are definitely against the government helping with the education of it's youngest citizens, and of course against helping it's oldest citizens. Also interesting... O.K. I now understand YOUR priorities and you can rest assured that no one will ever mistake you for that oxymoron phrase we all heard so much about from George Bush, "I'm a compassionate conservative..." It's pretty obvious your attachment to your fellow human beings is tenuous at best. But for those of us that are concerned about our fellow citizens, our children, the elderly, might we be allowed to use just some of the money we pay in for the betterment of society as a whole without you ridiculing our compassion just because you lack any? Should we toss old people on the streets once they have outlived their usefulness? When capitalism failed to live up to it's promise in 1929, starvation and homelessness were rampant in this country because no one had thought to create programs that would act as a social safety net in case capitalism didn't benefit everyone. This is probably a foreign concept to you but I believe it was the hard work of the average person that made this country what it is today, not those getting rich off of the labor of hard working people. And if we can't take care of the people that made this country what it is, then we might as well tear it down and start again because we the people no longer own it. Only when those that pollute our environment unabated, control every aspect of our private lives, and determine if we live or die in their quest for more and more money will people like you be truly happy. I for one, don't have your ability to lust after greed like a shark in a blood bank and I pay into the same system you do and I get a say over where that money is spent whether you agree or not. Live with it.
I went through college on a Pell Grant (and a few loans) that I didnt have to pay back...I could not have gone without them...thanks taxpayers!!
I don't take handouts from anyone. I live well and pay my fair share. My parents told me early on that nobody owes me a living and I have lived by that my whole life. I'm again sorry if that bothers some of you but I'm in a good place with it and that is all that matters. I think the greatest contribution anyone with a bless life can make is to give back to others. Otherwise, life has little meaning.
I paid off loans for ten years as did my wife during the same time. Even my parents or her parent didn't help with tuition. I was glad when the last payment was made and I consider myself lucky to have been given the chance to borrow the money and I considered it an obligation to repay it on time. Midas would cut programs like this because he sees it as a gimme gimme. How naive.
I paid the few loans I took out back...but the majority of the money was from Pell Grants which I never have to pay back...free taxpayer money for my education.... Then again...I now pay a good bit of taxes so by now I might have paid it back
They only become "gimmee-gimmee" when YOU DON'T PAY THEM BACK... I am all for federal loans. I have problem when they are not paid and the tax payer has to eat it...along with other entitlements. This entitlement and victimization mindset of many liberals will cause this county to collapse from within. I hope you will be happy when that happens.
What about military entitlements after you retire from the service? They are pretty lucrative and a real drain on taxes, are they gimme gimme too?
I'm sure every year my tax dollars go to help the really needy because the harder we work the more is taken from us. I think our record was in 2005 when (basically because of stock market investment) JABPUBLISH had to pay uncle sam an additional $9800 dollars. Yep, we made a lot of money that year and Uncle Sam was there to make sure we paid in every nickel we owed... Let me tell you, it was painful to write that check. It was a hell of a surprise too since the accountant we saw had already figured our taxes and they'd been submitted along with a $1500 check.
They (The $$$) come from a separate fund established by the military and for the military. It's totally independent from the SS.
These people served and worked for these benefits that are due. Matter of fact...that is priority #1...the defense of this country and I have no problem paying our men and woman who protect this country...which should be the main priority of the federal government. I have a problem with people like you that support benefits for people that do not work and do not serve. For instance, years ago...LEGAL immigrants came to this country and either worked or starved. They did not head down to the nearest social security office. They worked and assimilated...something not found today as years back. There is a differance between people that WORK and EARN a given benefit versus those that do not. Get it now??
looking for find information Hi, my cousins family is in great trouble, because after my uncle’s death no one are there to support them. And I'm looking for find information for getting the government to help with a down payment grant for a very low income family. I don’t have much knowledge on these so any help would be more than welcome, Also would moving to a City(metro area) help any with finding a grant? Thanks
