Your thoughts? Personally, I think Biden was very disrespectful by constantly interrupting and laughing. He appeared not to take his role seriously and seemed like the entire affair was a joke. Perhaps he considers Ryan a joke (he shouldn't), but regardless he should have taken the debate more seriously. Millions of people were watching to see if he should keep his job (he shouldn't). On the other hand, Ryan appeared calm and collected. He was focused and knew what he was talking about whereas Biden tended to ramble and go off on tangents. Ryan was quick, energetic and very articulate. Biden could take lessons.
Liars often try to appear calm and serious. It just sells lies better. On the other hand, how do you best handle someone looking straight into a camera and lying through their teeth? Laugh at them and treat them with all the respect a liar deserves. Good job Joe!
Biden DIDN'T vote against them. He absolutely lied about voting against them: Then Sen. Biden voted for the Afghanistan resolution on Sept. 14, 2001 which authorized “the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States.” And on Oct. 11, 2002, Biden voted for a resolution authorizing unilateral military action in Iraq, according to the Washington Post. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/biden-insinuates-he-didnt-vote-afghanistan-iraq-wars_654253.html View attachment 649 View attachment 650
In Biden's case, it was exactly the opposite. He was lying through his teeth and was very agitated and nervous. Terrible job, Joke Biden!
That is exactly what I suspected. Biden lies - 100% absolute and proven lie - and therefore the liberals accuse Ryan of lying. Oh, and BTW, they are doing so without one whit of proof.
You're missing the point. He's standing by what he said, no matter what. Now, let's get back to Biden's lies.
Biden accused of being disrespectful in vice presidential debate with grins, laughs Vice President Biden was aggressive in taking on Paul Ryan in their debate Thursday in a way President Obama wasn't last week against Mitt Romney, but Biden's smile may have stolen some of his thunder. The vice president, especially toward the beginning of the debate in Kentucky, could be seen grinning and laughing -- some have said smirking -- during Ryan's answers, as he prepared to dismiss Ryan's points as "impossible" and "malarkey." After the debate Republicans were quick to pounce on Biden's poise, calling it inappropriate and disrespectful -- even "unhinged." "You almost can’t blame Joe Biden for being so unhinged. It must be frustrating to debate when you have a record that is so hard to defend and not a single tangible plan for the second term besides tax hikes," a statement from the Republican National Committee said in drawing attention to notable tweets about Biden's mirth. Shortly afterward, the party put out a video montage of Biden grinning and laughing. Former Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer, for example, tweeted, "The contrast between cool Ryan and overbearing Biden really hurts Biden. Biden is too hot - not effective." Even members of the media pounced. "Biden's smile is out of control," NBC News' David Gregory tweeted. And Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, added: "SNL will have to devote entire show just to Biden's facial expressions." Yeah, he sure is whatever it was he said. It must be tough to remember sometimes for that poor guy. You can't name a major position he currently has that I can't post a quote from him or a video of him taking the other side of the same issue. I throw down the guantlet and challenge you to find one. This will be fun.
I thought you were talking just to coin. Let me see. This will get you started. Supporting partial birth abortions? Supporting Obamacare's death panels? Supporting borrowing more money from China? Supporting the reelection of Obama? Supporting forcing Catholic to pay for abortions? Supporting using stimulus money for Solyndra?
I watched some of the clips from the debate. Biden reactions were really odd there at times. I mean what I kind of looked at as a quirky personality when he was in his 50ies and early 60ies looked to be transitioning to completely bat sheet crazy as he approaches 70. The only other thing that came to my mind was that is was like watching a movie or tv show husband in therapy with his wife while she was telling the therapist about his affairs. Kind of a nervous, dismissive, condescending attitude. Or maybe he was drunk.
I have a question about the perception by pundits on the candidate's composure. In the first debate between Obama and Romney, the pundits on the news considered Obama's composure as being too "stiff" and "unresponsive" in nature, and said that Romney won in a large part to that. In the only VP debate, Ryan was obviously more composed, and similar to Obama in that respect, yet the pundits looked at it as being more polite and well-spoken. Is it just me, or does anyone else here think that is a double-standard of some kind going on here? Or is it that they expected Obama to retaliate more, be more aggressive?
Show me the statement! Where is it quoted? Besides, policies! Not BS rhetoric. You do know the difference right?
And this is the Right-winger's "numbers guy"? He stands up on stage and lies through his teeth and Biden calls him out on it and yet you pukes fall for the lie hook, line, and sinker. Apparently Moody's chief economist agrees with Biden. So much for your "numbers guy". RYAN: You can cut tax rates by 20 percent and still preserve these important preferences for middle-class taxpayers... BIDEN: Not mathematically possible. RYAN: It is mathematically possible. It's been done before. It's what we're proposing. BIDEN: It has never been done before. BIDEN: It has never been done before. RYAN: It's been done a couple of times, actually. Moody’s Chief Economist On Romney’s Tax Plan: ‘The Arithmetic Doesn’t Work’ By Annie-Rose Strasser on Oct 12, 2012 at 3:50 pm The fact that Mitt Romney’s tax plan is mathematically impossible was reinforced again on Friday, when Mark Zandi, a former John McCain campaign adviser and Chief Economist at Moody’s Economy, admitted as much. Speaking on CNN’s “Starting Point,” Zandi acknowledged a study by the Tax Policy Center that shows Romney’s plan to lower taxes by 20 percent across the board, while making up those losses in government revenue by closing loopholes on the wealthy, doesn’t add up. Zandi even went so far as to say that “the arithmetic doesn’t work as it is right now”: ZANDI: Yeah, I think the Tax Policy Center study is the definitive study. They’re non-partisan, they’re very good. They say given the numbers that they’ve been provided by the Romney campaign, no, it will not add up. Now, the Romney campaign could adjust their plan. They could say okay I’m not going to lower tax rates as much as I’m saying right now and they could make the arithmetic work. But under the current plan, with the current numbers, no it doesn’t. I’ll say one other thing, though. I think it is important that we do focus on the so-called tax expenditures in the tax code. Those are the deductions, and credits, and loopholes in the code. We need to reduce those, because if we do we’re going to make the tax system fairer, easier to understand and ultimately lead to stronger growth. So that’s the right place to focus. But, no, the arithmetic doesn’t work as it is right now. Closing all the loopholes and ending all of the deductions currently given to the wealthy does not make up for the losses of giving everyone in the country, particularly the wealthy, another tax break. The only way Romney’s plan will not add to the deficit is if middle class families pay over $2,000 more in taxes annually.
