I am headed back to that part of the world next week, my second trip to UA in four months. And I will probably be going there a couple of more times later this year.

What stake do you have? No really. What could he do that would effect your life? I'm not talking about taxes. They need to go up sooner or later. And if not by him then someone else. If his administration was to spend a trillion on defense, no opponent would bat an eye. And its not like you are going to pay all of your income in taxes, so what really do you have at stake? How did the last administration change your life? Or the one before that?

Anyone else notice how well closing Gitmo worked for BO?

Hahahah.. yeah... just another example of how unprepared he was for the presidency... and still is.

What is it they say, "The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before I got here, but now, somehow, it's my fault."

Got a little case of a persecution complex? I don't even see your name in any of the posts. Just what makes you think anyone has so much as implied that it is your fault?

Do all comments here go over your head this badly? Take what I wrote and imagine I am Barack Obama speaking. It'll help you understand. And BTW I don't care that you completely misunderstood my comment. I don't want any other explanation for it. I don't care that you think it was not clear enough. Too often in this forum, someone completely misunderstands a comment and wants to bitch and complain endlessly that it wasn't their fault and that the OP must have been flawed because they couldn’t understand it. I just don't want to hear it.

And I should follow your directives because..........??? Oh? That's right! You are "easily the highest educated person in this forum"

So, his PROMISE didn't mean anything? And it's okay with you?

And didn't BO run on ONE thing? Change?

Well, Obama did promise change and he kept that promise. We've changed from good to bad. I guess there's still "hope".

Well it could simply be that he bowed to public preassure not to move the trials to mainland USA and he cant very well simply let them go can he LOL so is left with no option but to return to what was there in the 1st place

Obama was adamant in November, 2008 about closing Guantanamo and said it was "part and parcel of an effort to regain America's moral stature in the world". Any president worth his salt would not cave on this issue.

So he should bring them all to the Mainland then and you would support him in that endevour LOL

He should keep his promise; a lot of people voted for him based on his promise to close Guantanamo. I may not have liked his solution, but I'd have more respect for him had he kept his promise.

Since you weren't one of those that voted for him based on his "promise", why do you care?

Did I miss it! Where did he say "promise"?

He is a wuss. He should never change his actions based upon more information or the realities of any situation. Blindly charging ahead regardless of reality is the American way. Another sign he was obviously born in Moldova or whatever the hell it was.

Is that another one of those "it depends on what the definition of is is" moments?

You've GOT to be kidding! That's the worst response you've ever come up with, Moen. If the man said he was going to do it, he should do it. Period. He doesn't have to say, "I promise, cross my heart" or anything else. I'm still laughing about how lame your response was....

So I guess you admit that he never promised in spite of your words. Your side jumped all over him when he said that he'd bring them here and try them. If you don't mean he promised, don't say it.

To be honest, he could shoot them all personally and you'd complain that was just a Chicago gang member. Your side has made themselves and their opinions irrelevant with hypercriticism. Why would anyone care what you think about how he handles Gitmo? I know I don't.

If you feel it's necessary to parse words in order to defend Obama's actions, feel free. I don't know what they're teaching you in academia these days, but I was brought up to understand that a man's word was his bond. That's as good as a promise and should be iron clad. His failure to keep his word speaks volumes about the man. "Bozo" never rang truer.
