said it's going down to 10 degrees tonight but it's 3 degrees
    right now.

I just heard a tree go bang and the ice isn't slippery anymore.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not
    what I meant.

I think it was a joke. Kind of like, "two guys walk into a bar then
    the third one ducks."
    I could be wrong, though.

sounds like the perfect time to get the hose out and make you a

That would be silly what with 2 multiacre ponds (one with lights)
within walking distance complete with maintenance crews (no lawns to
mow, dads can still play with their tractors).

The local fire department would be remiss in their duty to the community
were they to let a fire ponds get low. Plus they get to test out the
equipment and practice low temperature hose spraying and such on
Tuesday nights. No Zamboni though - you have to go to the hockey
playing and figure skating rink if you want that kind of ice.

Inner-tubes don't care what kind of ice it is.

Just how steep and long the hill is, and how good the benches are on the
way down for compression and launch.

    Ask any cervical orthopedic surgeon.

You should have shown him "A Christmas Story" and maybe he wouldn't have

He's not even supposed to do it *wonce* on a dare. He's supposed to
hold out for "double-dare" or even a "double-dog-dare." These rules are
pretty inherent. You're brother is not following the rules, and it
    makes me sad. *Sniff*.
