The Question Isn't Why the House Republicans' Debt-ceiling Plan Failed Miserably

The question is why they picked this fight knowing in advance failure was inevitable.

Sometimes, you just get use to losing.

 

Some members of Congress have had enough of the BS and are turning their backs on the GOP. Good, but more are necessary to ensure the problem is removed and doesn't happen again.

States are a big issue, for instance. Some states are "locked" for the GOP, but others need to be won by the Democrats if they are going to have enough power to bring back the jobs lost by American-based corporations that use factories in other countries to produce goods. We need those jobs HERE, so that our economy can recover.

We need to curb corporations from @#$%ing-up the system again, by insisting that a certain percentage of the products they produce (with the intention of selling to Americans) be made here in America.

At the moment, politicians have allowed corporations to dictate policy (see Regan telling Reagan to "Speed it up" during a speech), under the assumption that doing so would produce jobs. It does, but not HERE. It provides jobs in other countries. That MUST change if we want jobs, a vibrant economy, and fewer people on Welfare.

All this can be done, and rather easily, but we as a society have to realize that this is a major issue of our day and have the will to make the changes necessary...before we suffer another major system collapse.

 

Or, we simply charge a heck of a lot more to ship those products back into this country. You make it too expensive for them to pay some Asian kid $2 a day and then sell the product here. Shame of those greedy bastards.

 

Yep. The goal is to provide jobs here, and the means to do that definitely includes increasing tariffs.
