Anti-Catholicism is one of the only forms of bigotry that is still tolerated through out the world. The Pope's only mistake was the expectation that a dialog could occur between the warring factions to examine their poplitical positions and reconcile them to their fundamental religious beliefs. He didn't quite realize that people, including you, gave up their ability to reason or thing long ago in favor of feeling outrage. Nobody can be made to think anymore, and they reserve the right to fight to the death to avoid it. I know from your prior posts that you are a monarchist by nature and deeply believe in the divine right of kings, inherited lands, and all of the fundamental trappings of political oppression and class distinction that most of the world threw into the garbage heap of history long ago. I know that the British Empire has a long-standing feud with Rome because British Royalty was unwilling to accept the possibility that there is a higher moral power than themselves. Apparently, this feeling continues into the 21st century.

 

Any idea why it is so chaotic there Danr? Maybe because Muslims are killing Christians left and right in the name of Allah.

The Pope put a push pin in each and every country that disagreed. Conversion by the sword is in their book and it can not be removed. Trained homicide bombers from childhood. They have nothing but a mantra to follow. They are not free thinkers and that is where they are vulnerable. A few at the top are well educated but soldiers who can not improvise are cannon fodder. I would imagine UBL is really upset at having "blow back" work in his direction for once.Iran is ready for a new government and they have the means to do it but need assurances from us we wil be there in the air to suppress gun ships.
One smart man, a few well chosen words, and momentum can really upset the cart for a people who have nothing to live for, but should.

The Popes of Rome will always be associated with terrorism,homosexuality,& human rights abuses,especially against women.The late Pope John Paul II did absolutely nothing to end Sinn Fein/I.R.A.'s genocidal campaign of mass murder in both Ireland & Ulster.I can guess that Pope Bentdick of Rome will also do nothing as well!

Sorry Aiden I might well be a Royalist but I certainly dont believe in the 'Divine right of Kings' any more than I believe in the 'Divine right of Presidents/Prime Ministers'
Cloudy there are plenty of instances in history to show class distictions & political oppression in Republics as well, its not the 'Divine right of Monachy'

Danr gave as the cause of the problems facing this country in the middle east as ‘tribalism’ of it’s people. What he described in fact could be exactly what makes him and others on this forum do, and say the things they say to each with every post they make. Or at least a very good way of explaining just why we act the way we do each day. Is is called “Tribalism” and all of us have a least a little bit of it. Some are better at not showing it while others are as open about it as a often read book.

Oddly enough, Danr reaches a feeling of satisfaction when he attacks the person instead of what they said: the fallacy of this is that he argues from the premise that one event and preceding to another conclusion that the first event is the cause of the second. This is called the fallacy of composition, which consists of arguing from the premise that a part of a thing has that property; and the fallacy of equivocation, which consists of arguing from a premise in which a term is used in one sense to a conclusion in which the term is used in another sense. Exactly as noted by Cloudsweeper when he said Danr was using argumentum ad hominem.

Couple all this with the fact that his brain is ‘hardwired’ to hundreds of thousands of years of evolution in hunter/gatherer bands, where it is only US and THEM, and anything that is BAD for THEM is GOOD for US. (what Danr is calling Tribalism)

I’m sure you have recognized this in several members of our group, so now you know what they are up against and why they are as they are. After all it's not their fault, their grandfather made them do it!

Correct when you have good monarch, not correct when have bad one. Monarchs of England, ex. Henry VIII, and Charles I example of division in monarchy.

 

I have to disagree with you on that one. Republics are probably the most benign form of government. They are virtually incapable of oppression. However, a lot of oppression has occurred by governments that were Republics in name only, and oppression occasionally occurs when the instruments of public policy in a Republic temporarily fail, as it did with the internment of Japanese citizens in the US during World War II. But this only demonstrates how vigilant people must be to preserve limited government. Large scale oppression usually requries a strong government.

After posting I realized that the words may have been above and beyond your level of understanding, and I'll be the first to admit that I had help deriving this message.
You see, you and this forum has become something like a class project for myself and several other students, and between the whole group ( with help from the Prof) we have been making these judgements and doing the research on what you say and how you say it. You have become quite a discussion item around here, both positive and netgatively, I might add. Thanks to you it looks like I can make an 4.0 out of this class without having to do a whole lot of coming up with material. You are supplying it all, right now. Thank you Danr.
