For one, I would join the army and shoot some A-rabs!

But seriously, I'm too much of a wuss to wield a gun. Sorry.

Did you guys know that the Jehova's Witnesses took it to the Supreme Court and secured the right NOT to say the pledge?

I think that case was a while ago, no? EVERYBODY knows Jehova's Witnesses (sp.?) are crazy, anyway.

Ha, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious. I can pop off a few BB's, but I think my atheist morals (please refer to the thread you started, BTW) prohibit me from shooting anybody. Kick somebody's a--, sure, but not kill (funny, no?).

As for REAL things I would do, first off would be to pump some of that WAR MONEY into our educational system. Nobody wants a nation full of idiots, now do they? Or maybe we do...?

I'm too busy to read the whole thread right now, but from what I have read, I'll say this: Tom Maringer, good to hear from you again. I agree whole-heartedly with everything you said. And I love the version of the pledge that you posted.

I'm suprised about the jehovas witnesses not wanting to say the pledge, since I think most of the right wingers in this forum are members of that church...

Uh, we lost that war bud. And before anyone goes off the deep end. my Dad was a prisoner of war in s. korea. and ya know something he doesnt metion it at every turn. In fact he doesnt metion it at all. If McCain was a truck mechanic, everyone would be so bored by now of his constant retelling. And dont get all defensive but in this great country we all have the right to say or dont say any pledge so before all you redneck kike-haters start typing; know what the heck youre talking about. and the original pledge of alligence didnt have the words..under god ..in it. so why not say it the way it was intended. Nitwits. you relly think that they were fighting for our write to say the pledge of alligence. so what do you say now? all of Vietnam is communist

Pledges and Comrads and POW's, Oh My! One thing I will say is that the coin collecting world is just as divided as our great country is. After reading all of the responses to this post I have so much to say that I don't know where to begin. Half of the responses made me proud and half of them make me sad.

NoWE didn't, the politicians did! Such language coming from such a young man, don't you know we now have a moderator on this part of the forum? As for what they were fighting for it was so you could come on here and make an ass out of yourself and get away with it. NO other reason. If you don't believe me, ask your dad.

You do a lot of 'supposing' don't you? You don't have to look, as I admit using the term 'BM'(Before Moderator). It must have caused some thought on your part to remember it the way you have. This is good that you have started thinking for a change, and not just spouting off at the mouth. Yes sir, you are improving into one of the nicer guys here on the forum. Im proud of you and hope you continue along this line.

Is this your way of stating that you werent in the service..cause buddy if you werent, and you go on and on about GIs and such crud like flag waving and heroes, you are one phony. Its funny how you need a moderator to be civilized. here's a bit of information...Bill O'Rielly isnt really looking out for you. its just his gimmick.

I never said anything about "winning" or "losing" the war, bud. I said they were fighting for our rights. I think our soldiers did a hell of a job and I appreciate and honor every soldier who fought or died in Vietnam.

It seems like some of you think that if a person is patriotic he's automatically some right-wing religious fanatic. That's like thinking that if a person is non-patriotic he's automatically some ACLU card-carrying, tree-hugging, Clinton-loving, socialist hippie. Not true.

For the record, I'm a registered Republican. I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I believe the people should financially support the government, not the other way around. I'm Pro-Choice to some degree, but draw the line when it becomes wholesale murder. I'm Pro-Gay-Marriage and Anti-Gun-Control. I believe in supporting the poor, but not the lazy.

I cherish the U.S. Constitution and I love every speck of dirt that makes up this great country of ours. I AM patriotic and I'm proud to say so and I DO pledge allegiance to this country. If you're NOT patriotic and if you DON'T pledge allegiance, you're still as welcome here as I am. No one forces you to be patriotic and the Constitution itself gives you the right to change it. THAT IS EXACTLY WHY I LOVE THIS COUNTRY SO MUCH!!
