My feelings exactly...

You can't kill a weed by clipping its leaves, you have to detroy the root. That is one reasons why I am glad our troops and bombers are 10 minutes from this cancer instead of 10 days. You have to take the fight to them...in their backyard.

His solution was to support "life-affirming Muslims" through a new US state department "quarterly 'War of Ideas Report', which would focus on those religious leaders and writers who are inciting violence". Quoting James Rubin, the former US state department spokesman, Friedman wrote that the list should also include "the excuse-makers ... who come out after every major terrorist incident ... to explain why imperialism, Zionism, colonialism of Iraq explains why the terrorists acted. (The excuse-makers) are just one notch less despicable than the terrorists."

Ahem, Let me offer the best counter argument I have heard at my school as to fighting islam. (Yes I truly hear these arguments frequently, being on a college campus and all. Please note, these arguments are annoying, and they are crap)

1. Bush is an evil facist, and hates muslims for no reasons.
2. Bush orchestrated 9/11 in order to garner support for his "unjust" war.
3. Bush is a moron. (Coming from the same dummies who claim he orchestrated 9/11)
etc.

It gets annoying.

Anyway, the qua'ran teaches that there is a land of islam, and a land of war. Anyone not in the land of islam deserves death (how messed up is that). Islam and its ignorance needs to be eradicated IMO.

March 5, 2003, Palestinian terrorists chose to bomb Bus 37 in Haifa shortly after school let out. The bus is on a school route and 9 schoolchildren were among the 17 killed in that attack. Dozens of children were wounded.
December 3, 2003, Palestinian terrorists planned to blow up schoolchildren at the Ort Alon High School in Yokneam, the sister city of St. Louis. Thankfully, due to Israeli intelligence sources and the security fence, the Israelis were able to catch the bombers before they reached the school.
On May 2, 2004, terrorists ambushed the car of Tali Hatuel, who was 9 months pregnant, and shot her and her four young daughters, aged 2, 7, 9 and 11. It was daylight and the terrorists obviously knew they were killing four small children because they shot them all at point blank range.
Suicide terrorists see exactly who they are going to kill before they detonate themselves. If they didn't want to kill children, they could walk out of their chosen restaurants, buses and teen discos, and choose a different target when they saw that many children were present.

June 1, 2001, a Palestinian terrorist chose to detonate himself among a long line of teenagers , their youth clearly visible to him, at the Dolphinarium disco in Tel Aviv. 11 teenagers under the age of 18 were among the dead.
Mar 2, 2002 - Outside of a Jerusalem synagogue, a terrorist detonated a bomb next to a group of mainly women standing outside with their young children, several in baby carriages . The victims: Shlomo Nehmad (40), his wife Gafnit (32), and their daughters Shiraz (7) and Liran (3); Avraham Eliahu Nehmad, (7), Shaul Nehmad (15); Lidor Ilan (12) and his sister Oriah (18 months); Tzofia Ya'arit Eliyahu (23) and her son Ya'akov Avraham (7 months); and Avi Hazan, (37). The Fatah Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade took responsibility for the attack.
Aug 19, 2003 - Twenty-three people were killed, including 7 children when a Palestinian suicide bomber detonated himself on a No. 2 Egged bus in Jerusalem's Shmuel Hanavi neighborhood. The bus was filled with children. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. The child victims: Shmuel Taubenfeld, 3 months, of New Square, New York; Shmuel Zargari, 11 months; Tehilla Nathanson, 3; Issachar Reinitz, 9; Avraham Bar-Or, 12; Binyamin Bergman, 15; Elisheva Meshulami, 16.
November 20, 2000, terrorists attacked a bus carrying children from Kfar Darom to school in Gush Katif. 5 children were injured, many of whom had limbs blown off.
On Mar 26, 2001, a Palestinian sniper took aim at 10 month old Shalhevet Pass, who was sitting in her stroller. She was fatally shot in the head. This was hardly an “accident.” She was the target, even though her father was standing right beside her.
Nov. 10, 2002, Revital Ohayon, 34, and her two sons, Matan, 5, and Noam, 4, were shot to death by an Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade terrorist who broke into their home at Kibbutz Metzer.
May 9, 2001 — Yossi Ish-Ran, 14, and Kobi Mandell, 14 , both of Tekoa, were savagely beaten to death with stones in a cave about 200 meters from the small community south of Jerusalem where they lived.
The attacks mentioned above are just a few of the many many recent Palestinian terrorist attacks that took place even though the presence of children was clearly known to the terrorists.

In years past, children were also targeted. For example:

* May 22, 1970 - Avivim, Israel
Palestinian terrorists attack schoolbus , killing 12 (9 of whom were children), and wounding 24.

May 15, 1974 - Maalot, Israel
PFLP terrorists held children hostage in a Ma'alot school . Of the 27 Israelis murdered, 21 were children. 78 were wounded.

And then there were the Russian School Children

"The number who died in the siege rose to 335, about half of them children.
The final number of dead will probably never be known. Three days after the siege 180 people were still listed as missing. Many of the bodies were so badly burned as to be unrecognisable." BCC news but they didn't identify the "attackers" in the article.

It goes on and on but after every terrorist mass murder we hear the media and yes our political leadership drumming into our heads that Islam is a religion of peace.
Don't these people see what is happening, didn't they ever read the Koran, and why are there ears closed when information is brought to them. Is it the trillions of arab oil money that is buying people, media outlets, and advertisers who threaten media outlets for speaking the truth. Even Fox news treads gently on the topic of Islam itself.

Oh well, I guess that I should put my head in the sand too. At least that way I may get ....... but at least I will not get my head cut off.

I, for one, used to sit next to the window when I flew. Today I sit next to the aisle. If I see ONE mulsim even sneeze the wrong way when I fly...he's going down. I even tell flight attendents that if one middle easterner gets out of hand, they can count me to hold the guy down with my knee cap almost breaking his back.

Jihad conference in Texas

Hot on the heels of news about a jihadist conference in Florida, "the director of a U.S. group that seeks democratic reform in Saudi Arabia complained yesterday about an upcoming conference in Texas that will feature addresses broadcast from Riyadh by clerics who have praised holy war and Osama bin Laden.

Keynote speakers at the three-day event in Houston have espoused intolerance for Christians, Jews and Shiite Muslims. One of them, Sheikh Allamah Ibn Jibreen, has publicly urged young Saudis to join al Qaeda and fight U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the Saudi Institute.

 

The terror thing gets much ink and even more money (most of it wasted). The terror thing is a very minor real threat (drunk driving is a MUCH greater threat). Our money and attention would be better spent addressing global health issues, a killer virus out of Africa could come up and really cause us much more pain than all of the terrorists ever could. The bird flu is a real concern, terrorism is a neocon con job.

 

I think or at least I hope that you feel the terrorist threat is minor because the great job our government, law enforcement agencies, and various intelligent networks are doing in prevention. Never mind that our military boys are taking the battle out of our country and to them. But don't think for a moment that we can't or won't be hit big again and if we do relax then we will be history.

As for a world wide virus coming down the road. It will come it is a matter of time and many people will die but there is little that can be done for the virus that everyone is afraid of it most likely be a virus we never encountered before. Virus are RNA based aren't they which suggests they may even come from off the planet via metor since this is a DNA based planet, and the virus that we do know about can mutate so easily that one can not predict what will be. Right now as far as I know the best measures that are done in Asia is that when a virus appears in birds, they kill all the birds they can find in that contained area-usually chickens and when it appears in pigs they kill all the pigs they can find. Of course you know the real danger is when the avian virus from the bird mixes with the pig, swine virus and then makes human contact-boom. This is a real concern in Asia where chickens, pigs and humans do share the same shelter in certain over-crowed areas. This would make a good topic in its own right if you wish to start a thread on it yourself. I would be very much inclined to take part in it and would have an open mind to what others think as long as no zionist/cia plots dislogic is stated.

I only wish that all the money and effort that goes to war could go to science,
But you know everyone on the planet has to be on board with that thought line for that to happen.

Till then, we need to have our police, our military, our intelligence agencies and most importent our resolve to remain strong or my name will be Abdul Salam which would be ironic for anyone who knows arabic.

 

Ike warned of the military industrial complex thing , after communism fell they needed a new boogie man and "coincidently" terrorism came along (sorry you fell for it). As for viruses in Africa we have millions of living incubators for new viruses in their AIDS patients. If we were to spend a fraction of what we spend on terrorism on global health we could go a long way toward eliminating this very real threat.
