"The Canadians were clearly given a better treatment. That says alot". Kvasir. You mean they were not raped? or are not going to have their heads cut off inch by inch with a knive? I really do not understand thinking anything good about those animals who have those hostages. "The bible was used extensively to justify slavery" Danr. It has been a long time since i have read the Talmud or the New Testament. But if I remember correctly, a child can not be born into slavery and a person can not be taken as a slave from an armed conflict. If I remember correctly, and I am rusty on this, a person can only become a slave if they owe money, etc...which they can not repay and it can not be a period longer then seven years. Like I said it has been awhile but that was the gist that I remember.

Andy "You mean they were not raped?" i find it hard to believe they rape them.if they think we are pigs and suhuman i wouldnt think they wouldnt dirty themselves with rape. im sure i can be 100% wrong but i hope not.
Oh, rape is quite common on captives men or female by those "insurgents" be it if they are from Saudia Arabia, Syria, Jordan, or Iraq itself. It is to degrade and to take away manhood. Do not forget this is a part of the world where conquering armies used to make all the men shave their breads off to dishonor them.
Eddyk, in case you didn't know, Aidan is on this forum and, because you're homosexual, he'd like to see you dead.
Oh, well that sucks. I've only read the last page or so, and havn't gone through this whole thread. I feel I can be much more open on the net, and that's why I had no problem in saying I was gay. In reality though I am only out to a few close friends.
You probably didn't see it on the news then. The American and the Brit were both seen on the footage pleading desparately for their lives while the Canadians, while still remained captive, were given food and seemed hopeful for their release. A stark contrast don't you think? Preferantual treatment or is this because Canada wasn't part of this invasion coalition? Again, I just can't stand the hypocrisy. Wasn't there a major inquiry going on for prisoners abused by US soldiers on Iraqi captives? This holier-than-thou-they-are-the-animals-we-are-the-liberator attitude makes me sick.
Well, I certainly applaud you for coming out! You'll find that most people on CoinTalk are very nice people. As in real life, however, there are a few bad apples. Don't let them get to you; most people here are very supportive. How many of you support eddyk for coming out (at least here in the forum)? Bravo, eddyk!!!!!!
Dude, I was over there. These people are your enemies and if you think you could make nice and play with them, then you or the next generation of Canadains are in for a rude awaking. Doesn't it even get to you that they grab your fellow country men who were on a mission of mercy in the first place or are you the one who is wrapped up in a holier then thou. I know my sins but I also know the truth when I see it. eddy enjoy who you are and who really cares what others think as long as they are only thinking or barely in some cases.

Part of us are praying for their safe return and the other part of us says they are really stupid to put themselves in harm's way and now costing taxpayers' money to try to get them out. Ministry of Foreign Affairs have long issued warnings for all Canadians to evacuate the area. Even Doctors without Borders left Iraq couple years ago. These group of people, at least the ones from this Canadian religious organisation went there ignoring the warning and got there anyway. Yes, it's the government's duty in the end to protect citizens who are naive enough to make the kind of irresponsible decisions much like drinking and driving or not wearing a seatbelt. But really, do they expect a lot of sympathies IF something do go wrong?
Well we are on the same page with this. Nice people sometimes do not grasp that evil does exisit in the world and a smile, a handshake, and a handout will not make a friend of them.
