Anyone calling for the death of fellow law-abiding citizens should be deported - especially religious leaders & other influential members of society. It's equivalent to supporting terrorism.
Aiden I am sorry to have to say this but it is Ministers like Paisley who give religion a bad name, and before you say anything I am not a catholic, that man put the peace inititive back in Northen Ireland every time he opens his mouth. He is a true Bigot and would have been a good bedfellow for Jhomani and his mob. De Orc
sex is a sin according to him so he might have had her burnt at the stake instead (Good ole Puritan) De Orc :kewl:
Andy to answer your questoin once and for all jessica alba it the result of careful planning and engineering by the top scientist of germany and finland. she isnt human but a biomechanical cybernetic organism created to take control of the planet with her hypnotic smile and great(ok maybe not that great) acting.
OldDan, I'm simply saying that it's hypocritical to call someone "bigoted" when the person saying it is also a bigot. Personally, I think it's better (relatively speaking) to be a bigot than a hypocrit. I've never been against free speech, so please don't put words in my mouth. I'll fight for Aidan's right to say that he wants all homosexuals dead, even though I vehemently disagree with him.
I wouldn't fight for anyone's right to say that they want homosexuals dead no matter how much I disagree with homosexuals about the marriage and adoption issues and in school days past I used to stand up for them so they wouldn't get beat downs. I am sure if OldDan had five to ten minutes to speak about this issue you would see that he is not a bigot. It is hard to come across with a message that people may not want to hear (or misread into) in a few lines.
Hi, Andy... Well, I've always believed that people should be able to express their ideas no matter how hate-filled their speech may be. If even one person's right to free speech in inhibited, then the right no longer exists for anyone. The definition of a bigot is: "somebody who has very strong opinions, especially on matters of politics, religion, or ethnicity, and refuses to accept different views". OldDan, by his own admission, doesn't want to be around homosexuals. Thus, he has categorized homosexuals as a "group" and not "individuals". I respect his stance that he personally doesn't want to be around homosexuals (who obviously reflect different views than he), but his unwillingness to treat them as individuals makes him, by definition, a bigot. Now Aidan, on the other hand, hasn't expressed that he doesn't want to be around them; he simply wants them dead. So, therefore, "hatred" is the basis of his opinion (not bigotry) thus making him a hate-monger. Of course, I would fight to the death for the right for OldDan and Aidan to voice their ideas.
"Fight to the death" I am not idealistic over the freedom of speech issue when the speech is hateful for hateful's sake. Perhaps that is the rightest in me, perhaps that is the liberal in me or perhaps that is my common sense side? Don't forget, people in this country have been arrested for inciting violence as well as for other crimes associated with hateful speech. So I must not be the only one who feels this way.
I've called the Old Dunged one a bigot in many posts Andy and he's damn proud to be one. He doesn't see anything wrong with discriminating against someone for having a different sexual orientation, being of a different religion, or a different race. Ask him yourself. I think that there are two kinds of bigots, those that discriminate privately and don't think of themselves as bigots and those that discriminate without caring what anyone thinks about them. In my mind, discrimination isn't the individual's main problem. It's just a symptom of a much deeper ignorance.
Wow, interesting thread. I have left "coins" and come over here only once before. Now I might visit more often. I know of only one "gay" individual in our family, and he is on the wife's side. His partner is a CPA, and he (the relative) works in the computer industry. My personal feelings are sadness for him (the relative). Mainly because there are no children to carry on his many strengths. As someone who grew up in the 1950's and 60's, I developed an intolerance for homosexuality. That prevailing feeling changes with time. I asked one of my kids about our gay family member, and the response was "Isn't it better for him to live a happy life, as long as nobody is hurt?" I do wonder about the "why" of homosexuality. Is it a chemical imbalance, or an acquired taste? Hate. As I watch the news and listen to the radio, it becomes more and more apparent to me that hate is growing in the country. If you don't believe it, just watch and listen to the right-wing (and left, if you can find it) talk show "hosts." I can remember having disagreements with LBJ and Nixon, but I didn't hate them. The out and out hatred for Bill and Hillary Clinton, and now for Bush, is disturbing. Very disturbing. Not new in American history, but as venemous as I've ever seen. Why can't we all just get along, and be thankful for the life we lead and the great country in which we live.
I will accept this definition, and will admit that I absolutely defy anybody to change my oppinion of faggots, dykes, queers and sissies. I have stopped being PC a long time ago, and refuse to play the game of the righ-wing sissies. I call them like I see them, and I'm not afraid to tell anyone how I feel. Can the rest of you PC crowd say the same? Moen, you horse's rear-end, you should know by now that you of all people will be the last person I will ever care about what they think. I've said it before and I'll repeat it again. "I don't go around talking to the cow dung in the corral, so why should what you say make any difference?"
If this is what you believe, I see no problem with doing so. But for myself, I prefer not to think about any of this at all. I do think it better that there not be any children in such gatherings. Stop and immagine the problems the child will have in life explaining such a union. Think of the misery the child will suffer, and it's not their fault. No, I am sorry to see children in this situation. I mind my own business and provide for my family without ANY help except for what I have earned and payed for in the past. If these others would do the same, we could get along just fine, but don't expect me to go out of my way to be nice to any of them. This is exactly what I would like to do Gary. I don't have time to be bothered with such goings on, and could care less if they all were blown to hell and back. One last time....I DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS BUNCH OF PEOPLE.... what ever you call them to be PC correct.
old dan "I will accept this definition, and will admit that I absolutely defy anybody to change my oppinion of faggots, dykes, queers and sissies. For any one who would like to answer this question: If a person with multiple personalities commits suicide, do you considered that as a hate crime when one of them is gay?
Does this have anything to do with the structures comprising the innermost function, such as megasporophylls, and collectively constituting the gynoecuism? If this is the case, the answer might be 'maybe'.
OldDan, I sincerely respect your right to feel the way you do. I don't think anyone will change you nor should they try to change you. People should just accept you the way you are (and, conversely, you should accept them the way they are)... By the same token or (since this is a coin forum) on the flip side of that coin, I think you're limiting yourself and your potential as a human being by not opening yourself up to other avenues of thinking. As a former educator, I would think that you would be one who would be understanding of different people, their ideas, their culture, their way of life and even their sexual orientation. So, in that respect, I feel somewhat sad for you. But, if you're living your life happily who am I to tell you otherwise? After all, our constitution guarantees the right for people to pursue happiness.
