No we did not give the same advice. There is a substantial qualitative difference between your and my approach even if they both suggest bringing in administrative personnel (a no-brainer). I'm glad you think your anecdotal experience as a student, what 20-30 years ago, is comparable to my years of experience in the field of education. That's just so special. Jth stated why he asked for my advice in the beginning of his post. Next time he has a question about his experience in a casino, I'll refer him to you for sure. I've never claimed to be a professor at any point. That is David's illusion and I have denied it on several occasions and here once again. Unlike you, I don't think people here are idiots. They have different opinions and on occasion don’t respect each other's opinions and differences but people tend to react more emotionally that rationally in these forums. Gotta get back on my high horse and ride off into the sunset now. Later.
Thanks all for your responces and opinions……..but no one even attempted to answer my 3 questions, so Moen could you reread my post. Her and her peers, consensus is this women is very unprofessional at best. Other parents are very concerned of this behavior also….so we are going voice our concerns as a group to the dean. My daughter attended public schools so her exposure to the gay culture is no more or less than any other student. She is an independent thinker and is much more atuned to popular culture than I was at 19. This is not her first taste of indoctrination in a college class. Last quarter in Sociology class the teacher was bashing Bush and fox news the first day of class. Believe me my daughter could care less about politics as most her age don’t. Her and her peers described this women as very angry to the point of being comical So kudos to this lunatic showing these apolitical students what a lefty liberal is all about. This lefty went ballistic when a student ask if this is class was Indocrtrination 101.Hilarious. There where a few that went along with her hogwash, because they had no convictions of their own or were total brownnosers. My daughter learned some of the newer liberal buzzwords….social justice, progressives, group dynamics, collective….believe my this women opened some students eyes but not in the way she may have envisioned. Who said our young people have no sense of humor…..the last week of classes someone put up one of those yellow triangle warning signs on her door reading……INDOCTRINATION CENTER………..priceless.
Back to the original topic..... We were notified today at work that our healthcare premiums were going to increase. The owner has the option of keeping the same coverage for a greatly increased premium or accepting less coverage for just a little more than we pay now (less coverage, still at a greater cost). He said when he questioned our insurance agent he simply said "blame it on Obama". Imagine that. To keep our same coverage (which is world-class by any standard), a family plan will increase over $150/mo. I thought Obamacare promised to lower our premiums?
Please explain the substantil qualitative difference between your advice and mine. You might have to get off your horse to answer.
What I’m hearing here is two different situations. I thought your concern was that this instructor was bringing her personal problems i.e. her personal relationship into the classroom in an inappropriate way. Now you seem to be more concerned that this instructor and a past instructor were indoctrinating your daughter with their liberal political beliefs. You might inform your daughter that the world is quite different than the home she was brought up in and if she doesn’t want to hear alternative views that may alter her “considerable” life experiences, maybe college is the wrong place for her. I suggest business school. There are plenty of conservative points of view there and she won’t have to tolerate any different points of view that make her uncomfortable. Tell her to change her major NOW before some of it sinks in. And don’t bother me with this type of close-minded nonsense in the future. It sort of sickens me to see someone so young and already so narrow-minded
Not interested in doing so. If you just want to have another tit-for-tat insult fest, go find Tom, he'll play.
So much for asking a legitimate question, which you never answered. Your elitist attitude is getting predictively old. Lehigh was right I should known better than to ask a lane brain idiot like you anything. I believe she will stay in college and help expose and purge the education system of socialist like you. People are waking up and realizing the cancer on society that you and your kind are. Your original Question was what should you do! now that was answerd in full, if you want to ask something else please do so BUT dont attack a member for giving you a answer, and watch your language.
I have a serious question on this David so please fill me in. The agent replied "blame it on Obama". OK fine blame it on Obama. Did your boss just roll over and accept this? Did he ask for further explanation? As employees did any of you question your boss on this or did you just all accept it and "blame it on Obama"? Is the option of hitting the "free market" available to find a better deal on a company or even individual basis? Really, assuming that you have had "world class" coverage and have probably paid way more than you have received another insurance company might see the company you work for a good risk and money maker. Isn't that what it's all about? Could "blame it on Obama" just be a way to raise rates to folks that have insurance? Could something like that ever happen? If "Obamacare" gets tossed out the window would these people LOWER the rates? I can't answer those questions David. I'm not in your shoes BUT if MY insurance was suddently jacked and all an agent could tell me was "blame it on Obama" I'd be asking some REAL SERIOUS questions before that company totally lost my business. This brings me back to the original question. Did ANYONE question the "blame ito on Obama" or did everyone just buy into it hook, line and sinker?
Lack of education sure has a way of revealing itself. Your daughter must be so proud of her daddy. "Look, daddy can call people names". Hey Steve, I think its time for the red editing pencil.
Drop in the bucket for a man of your stature. Suck it up and quit whining. He's probably just raising yours.
Not interested because you can't. I watched the movie Jaws tonight and found this quote from Quint to be very fitting to this conversation. "Well it proves one thing, Mr. Moen. It proves that you wealthy college boys don't have the education enough to admit when you're wrong". But you are here criticizing the education level of others because they call you names. Seems very ironic to me!
If you can not communicate without resorting to profanites then go and play on elsewere is that clear for folks?
Man, is there dissention on the set of the Dr Moe & Toe show? First, Toe cracked on Dr Moe for earning a wage & now this?
Hey, here's one for Toe & his mindless drivel about greedy, corrupt management: I mentioned earlier that our insurance premiums were going up at work...up to $150/mo for a family plan. Well, we met today at work & the management team (about 8 of us) decided the company shoulder the increase and keep the employees benefits at the same level, with no additional out of packet expense. The company is paying the majority & we managers are taking care of the rest in the form of higher premiums to us. Oh, those evil business owners, huh, Toe?
Oh....you'll get it back in spades, when your salaried slaves are forced to "pick up" an extra shift or two during the week, or come in on Holidays (for no extra pay because they're salary). One way or another, they'll take it out of the slaves ass. Corporate management doesn't do ANYTHING that cuts into mega profit without much thought and a way to get it back (at a large profit of course). They just don't know about it yet.
Tom, On a certain level, you are right about corporate greed. However, I don't think you have the first clue as to why corporate capitalists make the decisions they do! I will give you a hint. Everybody has a boss.
Read again Mr. editor I never ask what to do (for I have already done what I’m going to do). So again Mr. editor and Mr. elitist the questions were 1) should she write what this teacher wants to hear? (2)Will she risk getting a lower score if the teacher does not like her viewpoint? (3)Can she expect this ‘in your face’ teaching for the next 3 years? I don’t expect an answer from Mr.elite because if answered honestly he wouldn’t like his answers. Just keep on insulting other peoples intelligence and make your feeble socialist suggestions. I find it funny how every 3rd or 4th post you throw out some very big (boy I look so smart) words…..but I understand you can’t have your Websters with you all the time. Mr. elite you truly are a legend in your own MIND.
