And the only specific exemption you have given is the Depletion Allowance. All the rest are "Types of energy subsidies". And Depletion Allowance specifically states that it is applicable to other industries as are every company's capital assets.

 

Obtuse? How much more direct can I be. I asked for subsidies specific to the energy industry. A deduction applicable to every industry/person out there is not very specific, is it?

Simple...(takes off gloves)...as a person who has worked in the oil industry, your bias is clear to all, except you. That's extremism. It's also clear that you should understand that subsidies are indeed provided to the oil industry specifically, but again, your extremism prevents you from admitting they even exist.

You are a part of the oil industry, an insider. You stated as much yourself. You nearly cried (with simulated emotion) when suggesting you and the industry have bettered the lives of everyone in America, and the World. It is reasonable to assume you expect America to collectively thank the industry, and you in particular, for that benefit.

But, of course, you ignore all the bad that you and the industry have done over the years. The corruption of governments alone should cause people to be outraged. The environmental damage to ecosystems World-wide should cause outrage at you and the industry. The riches you and the industry have amassed, while corrupting those governments and ecosystems, should outrage people.

It is that, your intentional willingness to ignore truths about yourself and the industry that forces me to label you as an extremist, IMHO.

Now please, remind us again of how important you and the industry have been to the World, something which I agree with btw, and ignore any and all of the negative consequences that came with it.

But, you wanted specifics, correct? You want specific examples of subsidies that were meant strictly for the oil industry, correct? Are you with me so far? Then read on and learn just how extremist you are:

Subsidies for exploratory drilling. Specific to the oil industry.
Subsidies for the building of pipelines. Specific to the oil industry.
Subsidies for the building of refineries. Specific to the oil industry.

You are an extremist when you intentionally ignore the negative aspects of your industry. You are an extremist when you ignore truths.

If you think so, prove it! So far you have produced not one whit of evidence of any subsidy specific to any "energy subsidies". BTW, even if you do find one, any subsidy paid to an oil company merely means that you pay that much less in the end and, conversely, any tax means you will be paying that much more.

 

Evidence has been provided. You being unwilling to acknowledge it doesn't make it go away. It still exists and is still just as factual. The only difference is that now it irritates YOU. BONUS!
