Your birdy need to have 2 heads so it could speak out of both side simultaneously. The man is upset at you for some insinuations while he is calling you every derogatory he can without moderator interference - and sometimes I wonder how he gets as far as he does without their intervention. He says he has "no problem arguing a point", but has not a single post on this page other than his woes ans someone else's supposed problem. He says "I prefer to remain neutral on most issues (not counting getting rid of Republicans in office, of course. I'm very much FOR that removal)" HUH? Neutral, but he only likes one side? How does that work? How can you discuss anything with him when he is on both sides at the same time?

 

I couldn't agree more. I wish he would get back to discussing the political issues. It gets boring listening to a re-hashing of the same, old, tired, hackneyed, oft-repeated "Get rid of Republicans no matter what" blathering.

It should be noted that "attachment 647" was yet one more photograph of a parrot, which I am taking personally.

It is a cowardly way to attack someone, and unwarranted at that. It allows pathetic people like you to personally attack people, yet "follow the rules" while doing it.

It's a loophole in the "personal attack" definition because a parrot isn't typically considered offensive. An argument can be made that it is "benign" in nature. My argument is in the way it's used, the intent of the poster.

What I find offensive about it is the utter lack of proper use, as it is inaccurate, and the intent behind you posting it. It is a deliberate attempt to "get under my skin", no matter the consequences.

An example of that is when I say Joe and I disagree on guns, yet your reply is a photo of a parrot, an inaccurate accusation, which is designed to make me angry...as in a "personal attack".

That is both cowardly and pathetic.

I see you chose another photo of a bird, again...to personally attack me, and not my comment. You were warned about doing this, so I will address that next.

I changed my position out of respect for Pete. I had to make a choice: I could continue with this idiocy, of which I am guilty of contributing to, at present intensity. I could cease holding back, something that would get me banned for certain, and not just temporarily either (with this name anyway, but I will not delve into that possibility out of respect for Pete). Or I could follow the PG rules, whereby I report what I find offensive about these continuing attacks.

Again, out of respect, I chose to use the accepted methods of dealing with trolling.

One thing you should consider is David's response. He has ceased the attacks, for whatever reason, and for that (and other recent behaviors) I have ceased hating him personally. I may be wrong, of course, but you two should follow his example and at least refrain from continuing to comment on this subject.

For David: Thank you. Please feel free to debate more issues with me, and I will do my best to keep myself from taking anything personally.

One more thing you should consider, and that is that this also "kicks the legs out" from under Joe. He too is getting too carried away with this nonsense. To him I say: Keep posting all those facts that attack those misconceptions that people post, as you are very, very good at making your points, and I appreciate that you do that!

Now then, as this is "unfinished business", I can understand why you'd like to respond with further insults and baseless accusations, but Pete or Steve will address this soon enough, so I advise you to hold off until they make their decision on who is more right here, on how they want the people on this site to behave.

On my part, I will cease responding until they decide. This being the exception, since it deals with a misconception of yours as to my decision to report this to the "bosses" (everyone wins), instead of an increase in the intensity of the "flame war" (no one wins, except anarchists) or allowing you to attack me without any response from myself (only I, and possibly a few supporters, lose).

Yes. A picture of a parrot is very benign. You can argue until you're blue in the face about the way it's intended. I'll continue to post them. If you don't like my messages, ignore me.

Would you rather I state my opinion by typing the word PARROT or just continue to use pics of parrots like these? My success rate in proving my case to them in the past isn't so good, so I've specifically asked them to give you both a warning to behave, and not anything more than that.

It's obvious that you two refuse to back the hell off, being that it is a rare occasion for you to provoke someone successfully. You have btw, mostly because of the absolute heartlessness of the attack, the sheer vileness of it pisses me off, so I think a warning by the mods is warranted, for everyone's sake.

That warning would apply to myself as well, of course...and also to everyone to tone it down and respect each other a bit more.

Again though, unbelievably classy moves on both your parts to continue with this bs. To put it another way: Holy @#$%, you two are unreal.

Even after I made several attempts at asking you two to refrain from attacking, if only while waiting for the mods to weigh-in on the issue, you two just CAN'T stop attacking me. First of all, I had NOT been calling you any names at the time. I had been talking about how different my opinion was with Joe on guns, and out of the blue you called me a "parrot"...over and over and over again, which was utterly ridiculous.

That was instigating a flame war, and you know it. You saw that it was "getting under my skin", so you continued that bs over and over and over again. I can handle that, since it is relatively benign, but what you did next was intolerable.

I mentioned to people here that, if I don't post for a month or so, just consider me dead. Your immediate reply? "Parrot". No matter what else that can be said, that was a hell of a bastard move on your part.

So again, all I'm asking the mods to do is give you and rlm specifically, and EVERYONE else a warning, to keep it civil, to keep the name calling out of the posts. Is that so damn awful? Not compared to what you two have been doing lately!

Now yes, I swore a bit....with damn good reason considering the way you treat someone who is ill. I don't give a damn what you said to me personally. I don't give a damn about dying, I'm ready. What really bothered me was that, if you could treat ME that way, you could treat OTHER people with similar issues the same way, and that REALLY set me off.

I didn't start calling you a coward or a liar until you made that horrible comment, and only when justified with truth, so I call that accusation a LIE, which makes you a LIAR.

So, once again, I'm asking the mods to reign in this bs, as it's necessary at this point, IMO. If that means I get banned for a week or two, or a year, or for ever, so be it, I don't really have an issue with that...as I AM guilty of swearing and name calling. BUT, I acknowledge my part in the bs (you two don't), I make many many many attempts to return to a more civil atmosphere (you two don't), and I accept that, even under those circumstances outlined here in this comment, I may face a ban (you two don't).
