If you have a heart condition and can't take the heat of a political forum, perhaps you should consider playing dominoes instead. I have little sympathy for someone who comes into a forum breathing fire like you do, but doesn't expect the same in return. In fact, when the heat gets turned up you try to hide behind your heart condition. I regret that you have a medical condition, but a different, less acerbic forum may be more to your liking. Just sayin'.

You think what you want, but my reason for stating my health issue was sincere...that I wasn't sure if my family would inform you guys if something bad happens. The other thing is that I don't consider it likely, only a possibility, one of the reasons I hesitated for months to mention it. It is entirely possible that I could linger for decades.

His sole topic of late is to see how far he can deflect the topic. He has nothing left to add to any topic from the sounds of his answers.

 

I have no problem arguing a point, and even the occasional personal attack, but if you're going to "ignore" me then don't hide behind that and continue the attacks. It's cowardly, for one, and my patience has limits. I can "flame" a hell of a lot hotter than most, and the rest of the people here shouldn't have to tolerate either of us with this bs.

The rules for this site, and many others, clearly states "attack the comment, not the commentator". When you do attack the commentator, especially this one, you are starting a "flame war". Pete & De Orc have every reason to be angry at the starter of the "flame war" and the person "throwing gas" on it.

I walk away from quite a bit of the pointless arguments here, but when someone repeatedly attacks me, and not my comments, my patience wears thin.

As far as my heart issues, it's tolerable, and I don't expect trouble, but continuing the attack, with that knowledge, is about as uncool as it gets. Now, I'm certain I'm not the only one here who has issues like that with their hearts, what with most of us being men and 45+ in age.

Bear that in mind when you reply to people here, and elsewhere.

 

If you are "ignoring" me, keep me out of your comments. If you can't agree to do that, I may consider it a personal attack. My patience has limits, and if you refuse to stop, it will be at an end. I have far more fire-power than you, so be careful what you wish for.

I, for one, couldn't care less if your patience has limits or what type of "fire-power" you have. "Flame" all you want... it bothers me not at all.

Now, you really have no room to talk when you hide behind the "attack the comment, not the commentator" rule when you personally call someone a "coward" or a "liar". Doing so is very hypocritical of you.

No one here is going to sit idly by while you throw insults at them. You may consider my comments to you as a personal attack against you. Quite the contrary. I attack your comments which I consider "parroting" hence my pics of parrots when you comment. I find it easier to post a pic of a parrot than to respond telling you that I think you're parroting. I think you're a parrot. You get the message. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. If you find it offensive, take it up with the Moderator.

If you think just because you come on here and tell people not to attack you because you have a heart problem and expect them to take it easy on you, especially when you post some of the most offensive partisan hackery on here, you can forget it. If you get excited by comments or they raise your blood pressure to the point where it affects your heart, you'd best find another outlet for your venom.

I have no problem admitting that some of my posts are odd, it's usually intentional. I'd say it can give people an opportunity to think outside of their comfort zone. It can help people learn how to think about things they never would have considered thinking about otherwise. And it's fun. One thing to remember (I know that's difficult for you, but do try) is that there are far more people coming here to read these little bs wars than is obvious. It's like a soap opera "As the Stomach Churns". To those people I say, "Soap opera's suck....but I hope you're enjoying the show!"

You are "for one" all right, and that's the point..."self-serving".

That said, Pete and De Orc would certainly disagree. They don't care for flame wars. They'd also point out that I shouldn't have brought up any personal information...because there's always at least one person who's willing to use it to attack the person. I knew that, and that's why I debated so long on whether or not to post it publicly. That you continue to attack is gold, IMO...a perfect opportunity to point out just how serious the right is about not giving a damn about people.

I called you a "coward" because you stated your intention to ignore me, then immediately began attacking me....while in hiding. I called you a liar because you lied.

I will repeat an earlier comment of mine, to refresh your memory.

I am a "reactionary". I prefer to remain neutral on most issues (not counting getting rid of Republicans in office, of course. I'm very much FOR that removal).

What that means here is that, when someone attacks me, particularly for no good reason, as you repeatedly do...over and over and over...I can't just ignore it forever, and I have no real problem countering the attack ...with equal or greater force once it's clear the attacker has nothing better to do than be an asshole his whole life.

Once I do counter-attack, I prefer to find ways to bring both the attacker and myself back to more reasonable levels of respect.

Inevitably though, the attacker repeats the attack, warranting more 'counters' from myself, and I'm happy to oblige. The problem with that is that the owner has to listen to both of us behaving like children.

My point is that I do "turn the other cheek", and often, but my patience with repeated nonsense has it's limits. When I 'counter', I am responding to what I perceive as unwarranted and ceaseless personal attacks against me. I typically don't report such 'attacks' as I prefer to leave them out of the bs, and they would have a different opinion anyway, since the comment isn't constantly being directed at them. I guarantee you that neither one of them would put up with your troll-like behavior for long if you were doing the same thing to either one of them. They are being smart though, and staying out of it as much as possible...probably a legal issue...considering HM's last comment to Steve...which was exactly the same as yours towards me: An unwarranted and baseless accusation.

I never said you couldn't. I said you shouldn't, unless you prefer to be a monster. It should have been an opportunity for you to become more respectful of other people, instead it's become an opportunity for me to show how the monsters in the neighborhood hide behind anything they can and attack people when they think the person is vulnerable...in other words, "here's the bully"...but in your case, it's more than that, I think.

Admittedly, I should ignore these pointless attacks on my character, as I am in part to blame for them. I should follow the rules more rigidly, as Pete and Steve no doubt would demand. I will attempt to be more like Stujoe and clembo, who I admire for their relative neutrality on issues, and their ability to not take things personally.

I expect to get hammered by some here who will use this opportunity to insult me at every opportunity, but since they are not willing to behave in a proper manner, I will try not to "return the favor", I will do my best to ignore the attacks.

For people who enjoyed the previous episodes of As the Stomach Churns, I'm afraid I'm cancelling it. But, not to worry, you can always look back at the past episodes for a "quickie".

P.S. - That doesn't mean I won't report people, quite the opposite in fact. Take the post above by CoinOKC: It's obviously an unwarranted personal attack (IMO), as it is totally unfounded and is vile in nature. If it occurs again, I WILL report it as such.
