It should be blatently obvious to all that Congress is, in essence, incapable of performing the task it was given: to create law. Granted, legislation is being created (on occasion) but the reality is that any serious legislation that should be considered for making into law is being pushed aside or otherwise ignored in favor of meaningless political gamesmanship. (To Congress) : While patriotism is nice, there really is no need to repeatedly proclaim your love for the country, or other bs...it's a given...and you're not in North Korea. There is no "Dear Leader" demanding your affection. There are more important things for you to be doing, things that you are being well paid to do, and you increasingly appear to be forgetting that. Thomas Jefferson wrote (in the Declaration of Independence): "We hold these truths to be self-evident, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive to these ends, ...it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it," This concept is expressed in the Convention clause of Article V of the Constitution. While Article V allows for a Convention to propose Constitutional Amendments, and isn't necessarily pertinent to my posed question below, I've included it here to remind people that We Are The People, and we have options other than "more of the same". My question is this: Assuming that the next election, no matter who wins, will result in "more of the same" in Congress; a lack of any serious debate on serious law and a continuance of legislation being inhibited by partisan gamesmanship, would you vote for a dissolution of Congress. This is purely a hypothetical exercise and not a "call to action". It is intended to gauge the current amount of satisfaction/dissatisfaction with Congress in general.
