It doesn't have anything to do with America. Just as it wouldn't have had anything to do with America if he had succeeded and the libs were cheering him.

BINGO! They'll whine and complain about the jobs that could have been for the little guy. In reality, Daley, his cronies and the rest of the sleeze bags in that city don't get to line their pockets. I would have cheered too. This was most likely a political move for Daley, hoping to come home to a heroes welcome and an assurance of re-election. Oh well. They'll just have to rig it again as usual. Ho-hum.

BTW,that's all Chicago needed. Make work projects to build a bunch of buildings that would be used once and left as an eye sore, taking up space, never to be used again.
Now unfortunately, they'll have to do their jobs and come up with a real solution to the unemployment problem.

DanR is right, and his link pretty much states the truth.

Limbaugh was absolutly giddy today. Beck was laughing his A off, and Hannity wore it out as he usually does. Even our local host at the hour was " he he he snicker snicker"

I think the bruise America took as a whole today is more important. Our enemies are laughing their collective asses off. BO got internationally and very publicly bi-chslapped, that much is obvious.

Drudge called it ....... " The Ego has landed "

To gloat and be happy is childish.

Nobody forced the Obamas to go. But you knew he would because he can't stay out of the spot light, where ever it happens to be at the moment.

Since he went, most people assumed they had inside info, because the administration wouldn't have risked going over there if they didn't.

Now we know they did indeed risk it! And now they face the consequences. Now the conversation switches to, "Was that the right move for him?"
I do agree though, that the media seems to have played this up until it's turned into a roar. Very sensationalized.

What would most people's response be if there was no MSM, internet, forums, or talk radio? And someone told you Obama went over there, lobbied for the games and Chicago didn't get it. I might have said, "Hm. Well, that's too bad." and went on with my day, never to think about it again. Instead it's been blown up into a huge fiasco. Unbelievable really.

Obama's got enemies. No doubt about that.

What happened was, he went " All In" in a very public and international poker game.

With things so bad at home, he needed a win, a face saving measure, something for the talking heads to praise and offer adoration over.

Turns out, he put all his cards on a losing hand. Even great players get bluffed. He so needed a win that he was " on tilt ". A phrase we use for a player so befuddled that they make poor decisions after poor decisions.

Sorry bud, games still on and now your a ringer ( watching from the sidelines ). Now is time to thank your crew, and then go burry someone in the desert to keep the rest of your crew in line.

He had a great hand, caught a nice flop and hadthem at the turn. The river is a killer. Thats how poker works folks. this was the big game. BO got a whoopin.

The fact is that it is bad for America that we lost the Olympics, and the Conservative Republicans are happy about it. This is really a symbol for how they really feel. They want America to fail simply because they think that it will hurt Obama. They are pretty sick and pretty unAmerican. The country comes before your political party.

Said it before and will say it again, count your blessings that you didnt get them. You should be thanking the man for not doing a good enough job

I dont recall the L. A. Olympics being an eye sore. Or the games at Lake Placid or Salt Lake being failures. I did read that the protesters in Chicago planned to go to Copenhagen to protest. Funny that they would spend an amount more than what it would cost each protester in tax increases on a trip to complain about the money they might have to pay over time. I think anytime America gets an opportunity to shine is a good thing. But what have we just shown the rest of the world? We cant even get along when it comes to sportsmanship and boosting our pride a little bit.

I bet 90% of Americans don't give a damn if the Olympics are in Chicago or not. And I also bet that if the President had not gone over there, Chicago winning or losing it would have hardly registered a blip on anyone's 'care meter'. Not Fox News, Not Huffington Post. None of them.

It has nothing to do with being 'bad' for America or wanting America to 'fail'. That is just a disingenuous, political game that both parties are playing.

I totally disagree. These people want the American economy to dump, they want America to fail in Afghanistan and Iraq, and they want anything that will make Obama look bad. they really do not care about the country at all, all they care about is their twisted ideology.

I don;t think it is any different that the how the hyper partisan left acted the last 8 years. It is like the Nazi thing...there were 8 years of Hitler mustachios on Bush. A few get put on Obama and it gets Pelosi's panties all in a jumble. It is all a partisan farce on both sides.

I do not remember one time when the left cheered America's failures. Remind me, I may be wrong.

Look, I am not saying these people aren't idiots for cheering. They are. Not because it is an 'American Failure', it's not an 'American Failure. They are idiots because no one really cares about it and they are trying to make a political issue out of it and somehow have it reflect on the President.

But the faux, righteous indignation from the left side is pretty pathetic too. That is 'flag pin politics'.

You seem to be missing the point. I am saying that we have a sizable portion of our population who literally want us as a group to fail. They want to see higher unemployment, they want to see more death and debt in Afghanistan and Iraq, they want to see the nation as a whole fail. That is not a "playing politics" thing, it is really sick. This particular instance of cheering America failing to get the Olympics is just a small, tangible example of this sick mind set.

And you are trying to extrapolate all that from the Olympic thing? I don't think so. It doesn't even rise to the level of a state failure, let alone an American Failure. At best, before the President turned it into a Political Failure, it would have solely been a city failure, if that.

The Republicans are using it as a political tool and the Democrats are feigning righteous indignation about it. Flag Pin Politics.

conservatives want America to be a great nation. THATS whay BO's policys must fail. We want his heathcare, a nationilised power grab to fail, the cap and trade ( huge global tax) to fail.

I cannot ever remember a conservative wanting to fail as a nation. Thats Huffspeak. Nationalistic policy must fail if America is to stand strong and free.

As for the war, get them backup or get them home, NOW !!! No hem hawwing while you debate how many votes from what demographic will it lose you. Send the troops that were asked for, or get them home.

Interesting comment and if only it were that simple because if it was that simple we should have been out of there a few years ago.
