Just thought I'd pop-in and ask this question. What does this mean to you? Long ago the Celtic (Keltoi) culture was thought to be crushed, but today it's stronger than ever and most don't even know it.

We may not have individuals running around with enemy heads on their carts and spears in hand but how many people do you know with a set of antlers or other trophies in their home, hmmmm... ;) Why is it still considered by many to be a great honor to serve in their respective countries (USA, UK, Austraila, Germany, New Zealand, France, etc.) military service as it was 2000 years ago?

The Celts were more than one or two small groups of wandering barbarians. Remember, they sacked and assimilated Rome...

Congratulations, I can totally relate to you and your trophy, it's just in our blood. Heck only 100 generations ago those antlers would have been human heads and Rome would have been an arch enemy. Look in the mirror and you can see the past...

There is a great book which I'd reccomend to all who want to find out who you may be. "Born Fighting"

Excellent read bones! Any one who reads this book and don't come away with a greater respect for the Scotch/Irish, need to have their eyes checked. I found as telling it as it really is. Not what someone wants us to beleve.

Yes it is. I read the book cover-to-cover and it explained a lot. When you wake up in the morning and look in your bathroom mirror, you're looking at both the past and future. Smile, wink, and remember the apple doesn't fall from the tree...;)

P.S. Orc, you're a Barbarian (Baa, Baa) to begin with, LOL...

Ben & Steve,I am of Scots descent.I've been in touch with a woman in Aussie who is tracing her family tree,& it turns out that I am distantly related to this woman. My great-grandfather must have been either born in Scotland & emigrated to New Zealand, whereas, his siblings must have settled in Aussie. Can you guess where my ancestors on my father's side came from? If you guessed the Orkney Islands, then you are right.I am a descendant of one of those Vikings that raped & pillaged the towns of northern England & Scotland.I am of ethnic Scots descent on my mother's side though.

Aidan, I 'd suspect that if you were around (oh say 2000 years ago) that you'd already have been burnt up in a 'Wicker-Man", LOL...

Ben,have you ever heard of the Up Helly Aa ceremony? It is where a replica of a Viking longship is burnt ceremoniously on land.It is a Shetland Islands cultural ceremony.

There was a Shetland Islands festival on here in Wellington back in 1997.Yes,the Up Helly Aa ceremony was held - on a lagoon for safety reasons.I enjoyed the ceremony, complete with a torchlight parade.

I've only read about ship burnings and burials like Sutton Hoo. Unfortunately when I was stationed in Norway (7 months 1985/86) it was winter as you could figure out and most of the tourist attractions were closed.

Steve, being of Scots descent,my family & I have an extremely low opinion of Romish Irish people,as the Irish branch of Pope Bentdick's cult tells lies, promotes racism towards both Jews & the people of the 4 British countries.

Sinn Fein/I.R.A. have got a lot to answer for,as do Plaid Cymru & the S.N.P.,& their scumburger thugs.

The S.N.P. are hated by a lot of people in Scotland in the same way that Plaid Cymru are hated by a lot of people in Wales.

Aidan you are talking a lot of BS as usual, you ever been to Ireland/Scotland/Wales?? I doubt it so kindly dont talk about what you dont know about. SNP & Plaid Cymru are not hated in either country, they are both very ligitamate political parties
I have known the Parlimentry leader of PC Elfyn Llwyd since I was a schoolboy and he got his first job at the local Barristers chambers. My father is English and quite happy to vote for Elfyn, he is a person who cares about the locals as apposed to the party hacks from the other two parties who were in power before him. Neither party has ever advocated anything other than the vote, they both abhore violence.
SF & your own Paisleyites are a nother matter both are hated by sections of there communities and with good cause. As for racist attitude I suggest that you look very closley in a mirror you are without doubt one of the most Racist & Bigotd people I have ever come across.
Kindly dont forget that in the 11th century it was Brian Boru, who called himself "Emperor of the Scots

Steve, have you ever heard of an organisation that calls itself 'Sons of Glendower' (not sure of the Welsh translation)? They were very active until fairly recently burning down the houses of English people who just happen to have had holiday homes.I have also heard of the 'Free Wales Army',which were a gang of Sinn Fein/I.R.A.-type scum who advocated a 'Free Wales'.

As to the S.N.P.,there are some scum of the earth republican organisations that have been tied up with them for something like the past 30 years or so.

As to saying that I know nothing about Plaid Cymru & the S.N.P.,that is incorrect,as I read the Politics sections on www.bbc.co.uk .

I have been informed that the Romish Irish are the most racist group of people in Europe.Wherever their ancestors have settled, they have caused a lot of trouble. We had a Taig scumbag named Jim Bolger who was Prime Minister of New Zealand (1990-97).He was promoting some extremely racist policies. He is still a Hell-bound republican & a supporter of Sinn Fein/I.R.A..His regime had very strong ties with Charles Haughey, the pro-Sinn Fein/I.R.A. Prime Minister of Ireland.Bolger is hated by most people in Wanganui,as he did absolutely nothing to end the illegal occupation of Moutoa Gardens back in 1995.I have a very long memory for acts of treachery that directly affected both myself & my family. His racist policies have had the effect of worsening race relations, increased political corruption,& the sidelining of the people from being able to directly elect all the M.P.s.Having M.P.s appointed by the political parties is repugnant to my idea of what a democracy should be.

    Aidan.
