Hello and welcome to Partisan Lines, Dan E. If you find slanging matches appalling, this probably isn't the place for you, since a large percentage of what goes on here is just that. We're all "Dimocrats" and "Repukes" and so forth here. We thrive on such brilliant badinage, and if you find it off-putting, you'll soon have your fill and more. On the other hand-- The rest of your post looks like you might just manage to fit in. Just heap some more scorn on the president and all the lying liberals. That will ensure that the right-wingers on this site will welcome you with open arms. Enjoy!
That quote is from here: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slat..._in_new_cbo_affordable_care_act_analysis.html Did slate goof that? In Table 2 of the report it looks like 12 in 2014 and 26 in 2024. I am ok with 12 in '14 and 26 in '24 to confront the idea of 'few'. You may notice in the progression of the post I later dug out the actual pdf of the report. Very transparent. I also quoted the 109 from slate (and I never claimed it to be other than as described in the CBO report.) You do realize what the claim is, right? Lower projected costs, compared to previous cost projections. If you want to argue with CBO, fine, have at it Are you keeping up on comprehension yet? And while you are at it, what do you think was rlm's point? Did you figure out his error? You may want to consider this gem from the report Consider it the bottom line overall effect of ACA. In CBO's estimation anyway, your faux news reader may vary. It is a big complicated thing and nothing is certain, just like any other part of the economy or future. ACA is the best thing going so far, the opposition has yet to put up any credible alternative, and now it is long past too late for that anyway. Their tactic was to oppose any progress, as usual. For instance they are still in denial of global warming. Now about your assessment of my methods: Starting with your disparagement of my ID and physiological state, despite your claims of character just before you committed the act of dragging yourself into it. My self esteem is fine. The ID was a taunt to those/what I saw here before I joined - how intelligent of you to misunderstand! If you read back the relatively short time I have been here you will see how I started out, what I encountered and when I decided to not waste much effort with the holy trinity of fallacious obstruction obfuscation. I will not be held to a one sided double standard. I suggested this place class up and that got the pocket veto. Go check the rules and enforcement of such. Anytime realistic rules of debate are promulgated here I'll stand muster. This is not a formal debate forum (far as I can tell so far). I make no apologies. Either way, welcome to the mess
Then I will not waste my time trying to convince those who can not see any side but their own. Good luck in you're self-assured, liberally skewed views of the world. No sense wasting any more time here. I for one don't have that much time to waste.
If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen No one needs any more of your kind anywhere anyway And you won't be missed Thanks for stopping by
My guess is he is a shill for one of the trifecta or someone else here. Doing a little drive by hit and run. Dirty work they don't want their name on.
It did seem to me that there was a whiff of Duplicity™ in the air. "I'm above it all, but take that, and that." I especially enjoyed the nice refrain from the song-book: "I'm no racist, but damn, all Obama does is lie. And I get called a racist just because I point out he's always lying. "
http://www.aoa.gov/Aging_Statistics/future_growth/future_growth.aspx According to this Govt Agency projections Year 2020 Total Population 341,386,665 Population (65 & >) 54,804,470 Population (< 65) 286,582,195 Year 2030 Total Population 373,503,674 Population (65 & >) 72,091,915 Population (< 65) 301,411,759 Population Increase (< 65) per year between 2020-2030 1,482,956 Projected population (<65) in 2024 286,582,195 + (4 x 1,482,956) = 292,514,021 CBO projected population (<65) in 2024 = 285,000,000 So what has the CBO done with the other 7.5 million people? Certainly they're not all in prison? Nothing against the CBO estimates - just the US Govt can not even agree with itself. At least they could all get on the same page and use a standard baseline and be equally wrong. Is that too much to ask?
I gave up a long time ago trying to figure out his ramblings. I barely skim his posts these days. He follows me around like a puppy dog nipping at my ankles but doesn't even manage to arouse my attention and then saves my posts in a file on his computer, and then uses them incoherently to try and trap me. I have no idea what this particular lack of comprehension is about. There have been so many
Welcome Dan and don't let the virtual screen door hit you in the ass on the way out. Your skin seems a little thin for this place anyway.
I have my favorite parts too. I like the story of voting for Obama in 2008 but being offended by the Sarah Palin meme in my sig line. You would think that someone so offended that I mocked a twit like Palin would have voted for her when he had the chance. I've never met anyone that could vote for Obama and then flip to supporting the likes of Palin. Sort of speaks to the schizophrenia of his opinions.
