The 2008 Election... Your Vote?

John McCain was a good enough candidate until he began to pander to the ever dwindling Republican base and flip-flopped on every position he ever had. Now I got no idea who he is.

Obama is an unknown for the most part but what I do know of him, I tend to like. He took on the Clinton machine and waxed 'em. That alone tells me he has something to offer. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt over what I do know about the other side all too well.

Holy Cow, Mr Moen we see eye to eye LOL. I was soooooo happy to see Obama destroy the Clinton cancer, and he did it well.

Untill she releases her delegates tho, I would not get too comfortable, no matter what she or her campaign says. Cancer has an odd way of recurring.

Pandering Johnny is a disgrace to all things conservative. An absolute and utter disgrace to those who paved the way for the conservative movement, Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater. McCain is a despicable man. I hope I spelled that right.

 

This is one hell of a messy election coming up isn't it? Republicans are not too crazy about McCain (putting it mildly) and hate Obama even worse (in many cases).
Democrats are unsure as to whether or not the defeated Hillary tribe will support Obama.

Yes, seems a nice centrist, conservative government might solve a lot but what are the chances of it really happening? Like zilch and nada?

Any major change will be and is being attacked by the opposition. We have far right and far left so to speak. That's it and that's what sucks about our system among other things.

Mud slinging maximus and it will continue on both sides. If you can't see that you're an idiot. It will only grow.

I've been quiet lately but that doesn't mean I don't read and I see the same crap over and over from both sides. Here's some fodder for you all. I'm not going to quote. If you want to see what I'm talking about go back and look back at your OWN comments. Same crap over and over.

After all this is a small forum. THIS forum will not decide the election. The votes will decide.

Post on all of the forums. Think you really change that many minds? I kind of doubt it.

Media, commercials and lies will determine it in the long run.

Wow, I'm pretty agreeable today I guess. I agree with you as well Clembo.

This forum, and others like it, are only places to discuss and sometimes argue and even at times we get pretty heated up. Only those politically interested come here.

The voting masses and " sheeeeple" get their news from Leno, Letterman, Stewart, MTV, etc etc, so thats the dangerous thing. Those will be the folks voting, those with no true conviction either way. The flip a coin crowd, or those that liked the commercials, or those who have been swayed by slogans.

Those who actually research and have strong opinions, whether we agree on them or not, are so small a percentage it wont sway anything. Why get uptight about it. It happens because those of us here who post regularly are the few who are actually passionate about our political leanings.

Politics and related study has been a hobby of mine since the 80's. I'm about ready for a new hobby.
