I need to understand the rules better first Bone. I'm near Chicago and it spills over into this part of Indiana on occasions. Do I get more than one vote? Vote Early Vote Often!
I really don't like either choice so I am going for a third party candidate this year. Probably Libertarian unless someone else gets into the race. I think the only thing that would change my mind is if Hillary gets the VP slot. Then I would have to vote for McCain. I do not want her a heart beat away.
While I clicked Obama, the conservative in me (probably in all reality) will not allow me to do that. I'm thinking like you Stu, 3rd Party. It will not be McCain for sure, thats all I can say. I'm still thinking on this one, plenty of time
I put a "Nobama '08" sticker on my car this week...a friend of mine told me to expect to be flipped off by every "coed with a nose ring" and "the fat people driving around in beat up old vans" (his words not mine!!).
You know David we don't see eye to eye but what you just typed really scared me. My wife wanted to put an Obama sign in our yard but I said NO because I don't want my house or vehicles to be vandalized. What's wrong with that picture? For the record I could stand to lose a few pounds and drive a beat up work van. I wouldn't flip you off dude. EVERYONE has a right to an opinion.
Nothing to fear. nothing to fear...it was just a joke based on his observations regarding Obama supporters. I'm sure this is sterotyping to some degree but if you'll pay attention on the streets you'll see he isn't too far off!!
With all due respect David I do believe you missed my entire point. I was actually agreeing with you but you read right past it. It's not just "Obama people". It's people in general. My wife has had a few comments posted in the local newspaper. We have a listed phone number. Know what happened? We start getting calls from some whacked out Republican with hidden ID. Next step we started receiving copies of FreePress in the mail. We called them and THEY were NOT sending them. Some right wing extremist took it upon himself to "anonomysly" harrass my wife because she had the gall to write a few well formulated comments that the paper chose to publish. The calls and papers have finally ceased but let me tell you this. IF I ever nail this moron down I would be tempted to beat him to within and inch of his wretched life. Real tough guy there. Harrasses a women while not showing himself. Yeah, got my respect. Like I said it's not just Obama people man it's all people. That's the scary part.
IMHO, everyone has a right to there opinion. No such thing as a "wrong" opinion. Maybe a wrong perspective, or wrong view, but not a wrong opinion, and no one should be treated wrongly for there opinions. JMO. Phoenix
I'm with you on this one. In fact, I supported McCain in 2000, but somehow I don't care too much for him anymore. I guess seeing how quickly he'll compromise his previous convictions to pander to the extremes in the party doesn't sit to well with me.
I was going to post the exact same thing! I can't believe more Dems aren't falling all over McCain...most US voters (Rep or Dem) are in the center and McCain sure seems to own that spot. I guess it's just further proof of how partisan we are, doesn't it. Just because McCain calls himself a Republican, Dem loyalists refuse to support him- even though his views are waaayyy more in line with traditional Democrat ideology than those spewed by their far left, radical nominee (sorry, I couldn't help it).
Moving to the center is probably a very good strategy for McCain in this election, considering how far to the left that Muslim guy the Democrats are sending out. I'd rather see an old fashioned conservative (small government, out of people's personal lives), though. Can't remember when we've had a true old-fashioned conservative last.
