Hey gang..... It's the 1st Tuesday in November and I'm off to vote against the newest big thing " we MUST HAVE " here in Arizona, a freakin waterpark. All the local TV and papers are trying to jam this thing down our throats. We paid for the Diamondbacks stadium, we paid for the Cardinal stadium, when does it end. Now they want a sales tax to build a freakin waterpark. Does this kind of stuff irk anybody else as it does me?
Public funds and spending it on a waterpark! O.K. once it's built, where do they get the water to fill their pools? At at time when Arizona, along with other states have a dwindling supplly of groundwater reserves, less water storage and a limiting agreement on Colorado River water, what are they thinking???? I've been told that in some communities they have already lowered water purification standards and other water project costs are exceeding existing funding levels. All at a time when the up-stream states are rejecting Arizona's requests for more water. Very poor decision on a poorly thought out project.
Good thinkin Dan, they tried to sell it to us this way... Uses less water than a golf course !!! Anyways, I was the only one there at 6pm, but they said turnout was good considering that was the only thing on our ballot.
Maybe they can find Moses and get him to smite a couple of the rocks they have handy! What are they going to do, tap into the Rosevelt dam?
