Here are some of mine.... St. Gallen/ AV Dukat 1773 Bern/ AV Doppel Dukat 1771 Bern/ Doppel Dukat 1796 Bern/ Doppel Duplone 1796 Zurich/ AV Quarter Dukat 1758 Basel/ AV Quarter Dukat ND (1741) Bern/ AV Duplone 1793
I already posted them on "world coins" thread. I really like the gold coinage from Basel/ Bern/ Zurich/ Chur/ St. Gallen...... Seems/ there is never enough $$$$ around to obtain them/ esp. the higher Dukaten. Most AV 10 Dukaten run 100K+ 20 Dukaten 500K+++
So far/ I managed to collect at least 4 gold/ electrum coins from all the 27 centuries of coinage. My best century is 19th (1800-99) with 175 AV coins. I have 1100+ and counting. Hope to have a really busy lawn/ garden maint. upcoming season to earn more $$$ for nice coins.
I admire the real historic preservation effort and accomplishment you have achieved. This is an example of collecting and enjoying our hobby for a purpose other than investment. Keep going. The non-investment value of your accomplishment exceeds any satisfaction level returned by simply a focus on $ return.
Thank you! I fully agree with you. We should collect ONLY for fun/ not for flipping the coin/s for a fast buck. This hobby is also healthy/ when one has goals/ purpose you feel better. Whenever/ I am having a rough day/ I just sit down look at some of my coins/ instantly my mood changes for the better. Here are two more... AV Dukat 1741 Lucerne AV Doppel Dukat 1727 Zurich
I know so little outside of non-US Coinage, JK, but those coins are beautiful, both in design and preservation.
