Survival of the fittest

Yes I know the Post Office was a government monopoly. That's why I included it. Even the government should not be above controlled monopolies.
The phone company no longer needs government regulations now but it needed it to come to were its at now.

 

True but that has nothing to do with what was stated about letting companies run without government regulations. They keep the playing ground fair. Without we would have monopolies.

 

Actually, government tends to make the playing ground unfair. Why do you think there are all them corporate lobbyists in Washington DC? Those lobbyists are usually trying to get government to give them a competitive advantage through some government action. The FDA and DOT have greatly reduced competition in the transportation and pharmaceutical industries as just a couple examples of government restricting competition.

 

The FDA and DOT are there for security and safety measures. Everybody has the same chance but then it goes back to big business that can afford the restrictions. So I guess that would make more monopolies but then you have safer and more reliable commodities.

 

But to counter act these big business monopolies you do have goverment SBA and financial incentive reforms which help subsidize small business.

 

Rome fell for the same reason that the US will fall. They stopped the practice of making everyone integrate and allowed everyone who became part of the Roman Empire to keep their own culture and identity. Instead of Romans, they had Germanians, or Carthaginians or whatever as a conquered member of their Empire, not an integrated member.

 

But was it not all just further results of their change in belief structure?

As a domino effect, a fundamantal change in belief structure will change evcerythign in a society. After the push tword Christanity, there were secrete pockets of people who were still worshiping their old beliefs and even more trying to blend the two and the excesses that go with these actions ran into other areas.


The timelines show after the puch tword changing beliefs marked the massive changes in political methods as well. \


I believe it is cause and effect but who knows for sure being as were were not there but it is also interesting to see some of the same changes in America as we are moving away from the belief structure that made us strong. As they say, history repeating itself.

 

People get fed up with control freaks after they give everything humanly possible and it's still not good enough.. Never is with some folks. Their identity depends on it.. Civilizations fall.

A common thread in the downfall of every civilization is the breakdown of gender roles...
