Did anyone see the special on Friday night "Stupid In America: The Truth About Public Schools." I though this piece was very well presented, and made an excellent point about public schools. I couldn't help laughing at some questions asked to 10TH GRADE STUDENTS: Where is the Kentucky Derby held? Kansas. :headbang: :headbang: What caused the Civil War? Napolean. :thumb: :thumb: OldDan, you hit the nail on the head a while back. So, how do you feel about public schools?
While it unfortunately true we have such brain trusts as Danr, we can't in all honesty place all the blame on the student. After all we allow such idiots as Chomsky to teach in our schools. This is and will continue to be the soft spot in education for years to come. Get rid of the NEA and replace it with something like the AFT if a union is wanted. At least the AFT is honest about what they are after and how they go about getting it done.:kewl:

Face it Danr...you are a recent product of government schools and 20/20 really demonstrated how "dumb downed" our kids have become. Your teacher unions (NEA) and government workers have a solution...MORE MONEY, MORE TAXES! Look what we spend per kid, but to socialists like you, it is NEVER enough! Fortunately, there are enough people here that could care less about your feelings. When you are wrong, we will tell you. You can go cry to a bleeding heart who will then "feel your pain". The bleeding heart will not correct you, just make you feel good about yourself. If a person wants to escape government schools (i.e., school choice, vouchers), liberals scream and filabuster!
