Well, today I had the cable company out to instal a digital cable internet connection in my home... WOW. I know, some of you are thinking - this idiot had dial up until today? Well, I never figured I spent much time on the internet, so until they offered this service with a bundle package, the cost never really seemed worth it. Now I'm paying for cable, phone and internet service, and it costs less - internet was like a freebe.
In a few years you will wonder why the hay you kept the cable internet for so long with the new secure wireless connections that have been out for years.
I can't even remember dial-up. Even my phone is digital. My in-law was here over the holiday and he couldn't believe the difference from his dial-up to cable. Fiberoptic is already being layed around town and I can't wait. I'll be able to respond to nasty comments in the general discussion forum before CoinTalk buddies are even finished typing them.
I read that So Korea has light speed internet. They can download movies in 2 or 3 minutes. They never used these cables, they went straight to fiber optic. This points out the reason that I am concerned w/China, all of their infrastructure will be ultra-state-of-the-art once they build it (especially those nuke plants).
So you took the foil off your head and are reading our thoughts. Not impressive. When my foil is off I can read thoughts of my foes before they can even think of them!
We've got fiber optic here and I don't know how I ever lived without it. I'm fortunate that my hubby works for a telecommunications company so we tend to get things a bit early This whole house is wired to the gills for one thing or another...most of which I understand, some of which I don't (I just nod my head and say 'yes honey, that's really cool, love it'). But probably the nicest thing is the wireless router...I'm not tied to the desk to play on the internet if I don't want to be. Just fire up the laptop in the living room while watching tv and relaxing with a cocktail most evenings.
Well just got a new puter with a wierless keyboard & mouse (Still on Dial uP) and am waiting for the engeneer to get broadband installed have the connections allready just need the box then away we go LOL De Orc :kewl:
