Someone stole a Krispy Kreme truck today.

But he got nabbed. Awwwww. No donuts for him.

The next heist would have been a milk truck. I just know it.

Can you burn those in a gas tank? or at least whatever you can wring out
    of them?

Yes. I have done the extraction. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon. I was
bored. I had stale creme-filled donuts left over from a Friday
afternoon meeting (postponed from the AM - nobody wanted to spoil their
    supper).

All the 'creme' fats were saponifiable and, therefore good for
transesterification into biodiesel. Further, the sugar was entirely
crytallizable sucrose (no racemized goo) so conversion to ethanol would
have been complete. The donut 'shell' itself wasn't analyzed beyond fat
extraction but I believe much of it consisted of hydrolyzable starch
which could have been processed to dextrose for ethanol production as
    well.

Carbohydrates release water during combustion which puts a serious
damper on things. OTOH, after defatting, adding an oxidant, not unlike
niter of potash, and some aluminum powder to steal (exothermically BTW)
the oxygen from the water leaving hydrogen to react (exothermically
BTW) with the aforementioned oxidant would shift the reaction rate in a
positive direction. A simple catalyst, not unlike rust dust, would
certainly further increase the rate and completeness of the reaction
such that the subject ball-milled and re-compacted and re-fatted donut
husk could be used to initiate a comfort-giving dung (or wood or
charcoal or corncob...) fire in a matter of seconds WITH ONE MATCH!

    Boy Scout stuff there.

I am thinking a chemistry degree would be helpful.

They're simple concepts - kitchen stuff that everybody knows:

Saponify - make soap with it

Transesterify - make an ester with an acid and an alcohol (esters smell
nice - like mint or lemon f'rinstance, and burn good too). In this case
alcoholic lye is reacted with vegetable fats to produce the desired
    biodiesel ester.

Crystalize - grow some crystals from a solution (e.g. rock candy)

Racemize - put some acid in a sugar solution and heat (or wait) to make
a mixture of left-handed and right-handed sugars (caramel for ice cream
    f'rinstance)

Hydrolyze - take a big molecule (polymer) apart (like for making beer -
the malted (sprouted and roasted) barley busts up starch with 'amylase'
to make sugar for the yeast beasts to eat)

    Sheesh.

You just wasted four perfectly good entries (at least) for the FlonkiPedia.
