I don't like it when people use "logic" for anything but Boolean/
    propositional deduction.

It whiffs too much of, say, sticking an adjective on "justice".

I don't recall hearing George Stibitz grumbling about having been

Yeah. Adjectives imply a lack of purity - some sort of practical
application requiring a degree of specificity lacking in the pure
    mathematical construct.

Plato would be appalled. Euclid too. I'm not so sure about George
Boole - he had to keep a roof over his head wot with the British Isles
having rather raw weather and may well have compromised purity for a
cord of wood and a few lambchops.

I think you're thinking of Hegel, who proved that the divine dialectic,
the will of God acting through the medium of history, achieved its
    ultimate in Bismarck's Wilhelmine Empire and its bureaucracy . . . .

Or Kant, who did pretty much the same.

Not to mention all the goddam algebraists.

My point is it's a bad idea to facilitate in any way the idea that there's
more than one kind of "logic", since that opens a royal road to all sorts
    of anti-rational BS.

ladder logic is a language that was introduced by manufacturers to be
as close to relay logic, the old way things were done, in
