The problem with Clembos facts is there is no context. The median US household income (2020) was $67.5k. That puts 63% of military members at or below that threshold. There’s also no context as to the location of each listed neighborhood income brackets as it applies to individual service members. For example, if you were one of the military members that came from a household income of 56k and lived in NY city, you weren’t living high on the hog. As for the education levels, service eligibility requires a HS diploma or a GED. There are a few exceptions that one might get a waiver for this requirement but not many. Many join the military to serve, learn skills, and to take advantage of the GI bill and other education incentives. 80% of current military members come from families that had at least one member that served.
