So what about this budget BO has come up with?

Any thoughts about this mess BO is calling a "budget"?
Seems he had promised deficit reductions (50% reduction, right?) in order to get elected but after more than 1000 days the best he could come up with is over a trillion dollar in deficit spending?
C'mon. This idiot has got to go.

Yes, his "budget" is anything but. It isn't a budget at all. In these tough economic times when our country should be scaling back on spending he wants to spend more??? But, what more can we expect from a guy with such limited experience? Also, I agree with your last sentence wholeheartedly!

Actually, No! Every European country that has implemented austerity measures is struggling. Countries like Germany that have invested in keeping people employed by paying for those employees that would have been laid off are doing far, far better than those countries cutting and slashing jobs. The lesson here is that those countries that invest survive and those that cut just sink further into debt. You simply can’t cut your way to prosperity and Germany has proven exactly that.

Thanks! Usually you argue with me not support my arguments. Maybe you can be taught.

Germany cuts its 2012 GDP forecast to 0.7%; "Germany is and remains an anchor for stability and growth in Europe"

0.7% growth and yet they are the "anchor for stability and growth in Europe"! And you really think that is a plus?

Best of a bad lot, maybe?
Certainly doesn't make it a model we should follow.

Yes, we're all aware of how much you despise Obama so it's no shock that you'd complain about the budget. But let's get down to the basics:

It comes down to whether you believe that you can encourage a healthy economy by giving tax-breaks and other financial assistance to companies or the poor.

IMO, giving a billion dollars to a few companies means those companies owners, executives, and shareholders will see healthy profit, but few others will benefit. The vast majority of that billion will not become a factor in the economy since the money will be hoarded by a few greedy people. Giving that billion to a million poor people means that money is injected into the economy immediately, since the poor have bills to pay and can't afford to hoard money.

And that's why Reagan was an idiot.

    Interesting.
So what happens when that money has been spent? Are the poor people better off with a new tv or whatever they've spent their money on?

No. Absolutely not. People on the low end of the economic scale circulate very little money. If you give money to a person and they spend it, you've simply recirculated it back into the pockets of the wealthy. Giving money to the poor is nothing but a temporary fix for them. We need to concentrate on educating the poor and making them viable economic citizens.

But the libs prefer dependence on gov't aid instead of independence from gov't aid.

You are correct. Also, the poor remain a very solid voting bloc for the Democrats and therefore will probably never be educated...

Brainless one... the point was about which helps the economy more. THAT was the focus of the example. One million people spending $1000 each means smaller businesses get that money, most of it locally. As more money flows into those businesses they can expand and hire more people to make more products or services. Those new jobs continue the expansion. Give that money ($1,000,000,000) to a Fortune 500 company and if any jobs are created at all it'll be in the luxury markets for yachts (not used to spelling that, had to look it up) and jets, and stuff like that... though most of the money will be kept in bank accounts in Switzerland and the Caymans. Don't know or care if I spelled either of those locations right.

    ...BUT...

It shows where your thinking is, to say 1,000,000 people would spend $1,000 each on non-essentials. That's what you're worried about right? That your tax-dollars aren't spent on non-essentials? That's your big-beef? I know it is, but tell me this: How the hell is it worse to have $1,000,000,000 dumped into an economy than having the majority of that money locked-up in a few rich-guys hidden bank accounts?

    ...AND...

What makes you think a million people would waste money like that? Are you stupid or something? The majority of that money will go towards things like food, heating, and bills.

Me personally? I'd demand my $1,000 came directly out of your account, and I'd want proof of that, then I'd take that cash, rub it all over my naked body, put clothes back on and find a strip club where I'd wave it at some dancer and say "It's yours as long as you got a condom on you". Then CALM DOWN OK

But you're a, and I don't know where any strip clubs are. So, if this is gonna happen, I need to know something: Do I look in the phone book under "Tiffany" or "Candy" or what?

What I have not missed is the absolute dearth of proof for every single statement he makes - especially the insults.

I like sex. I like having lots and lots of sex. I personally don't use any protection though, so that contraceptive thing means little to me. Maybe I should whine that I may wind-up paying an extra buck a month on some insurance policy that I might have to get in the near-future... but nah... I'm just going to

    Have a nice day.

Ummm, I doubt any business is going to expand based upon a temporary, gov't infised spending spree. How much sense would that make? See, once the money is spent, it's spent...there is no residual to this sort of short-sided, self-serving payout.

As far as the balance of your post? Very odd.

See? That's why Reagan is still so beloved... there are a lot of simple-hard-workin'-folk like you who have no understanding of how the economy functions. Your kind is beloved by the mega-rich, who use that stupidity for their own financial benefit.

    Slow down a little bit & think...focus!
What company is going to expand or hire permanent workers based on a temporary spending spree? It doesn't happen as a result of the Christmas shopping season. It doesn't happen when people get those big tax refund checks. Why would a one-time gov't bonus check be any different? And haven't we tried that before?
I get that you just want a handout rather earning it for yourself but is that really going to help the country? I don't think so. My advice to you is just bite the bullet, get a job & pay your own way. In the end, you will be happier & you won't have to live (hoping for) gov't handout to gov't handout. Think of what you could accomplish if you put as much energy into hard work as you do looking for the next freebie.
