so this is the only fault that the republicans can find with Obama (Van Jones)

First off let me say I did not vote for Obama. The non stop spending has me alarmed, but the thing I keep wondering is how much has government grown since he has taken office. This in no way is meant to undermine his out of control spending by any means. In Nevada the governor here has added a post to overlook and control the stimulus spending. I can only imagine how many more jobs that will create, with that in mind where they are going to get that money to fund those positions. The governments way of getting more fingers in the pie, and if you think I believe this is a good thing, please re-read Thank you.

Just so there is no confusion; I am speaking specifically of the positions in charge of determining where the money will go. The jobs the stimulus money itself creates, road work, parks etc. is what it is for.

This is why it makes me cringe to say I'm a republican. Such narrow minded twits in my party. Hey I like samll government too. My motto for Washington DC is..''Just fix the roads. We'll take care of the rest.''. but they dont listen. Dems dont listen Reps dont listen. They all spend the same amount. Just on different things. Obama got voted in. fair and square. there it is. deal with it. I guess people just wanted a dem in there this time. My party will be back. We'll never have another Eisenhower, but it will be a grand old time when we do win again. In the mean time stop whining about the guy.

No it isnt. I never liked the bailout plan. I never liked the healthcare plan. The only thing I didnt complain about was paying taxes. And helping those in less fortunate. Which I think is better than bombs.

Hey A.J. I say regardless of what transpires this year that next year they will have to raise the ceiling again. I like how they suggest that they will have to curtail social security and medi-care to reduce the spending. Really? When is America going to see a return on the bailout, how long do those companies get to ride for free?

It makes no sense to me at all to bailout a company that is failing. If I want to run a financially responsible business, I am forced to do it competitively. I have to be vigilant, keeping track of the things going on in my industry, and the bottom line. Otherwise I will be out of business. No one is going to pay attention, to the fact this is the way I have been doing business for 30 years.

    vess1 "Birds of a feather...."

Things are not as simple as people would like to make them anymore. There was a time when staying within a budget (for the country) was important. A long time ago.

You have to think of things backwards now. Inside out if you will. This government can no longer attempt to actually cut costs and save money EVER AGAIN!! It will never be. Anybody who says they will cut government spending is lying.

This whole past half a century is a new era where we left past thinking behind. Now, simply stated, debt IS money. It's that simple. The government HAS to create new money out of thin air, new debt, just to keep the wheels turning. It can never reverse now. I don't know what will come of it in the end. Maybe hyperinflation or a major devaluation of the dollar. But that's how it is. Banks lend out money based on loans that other people are paying back. If they can't create new loans, there is no new money to lend out (backed by those loans) and the economy grinds to a halt.

The government is the only entity that can legally counterfeit currency by way of the federal reserve. So they have to take the lead. I would expect more and bigger bailouts in the future. No doubt about it.

Our money is backed by debt. The only way to create more money to pay the interest on all debts (because there is not and never will be enough money in existence to pay the interest on any debt) is to create more debt.

The debt has to stay ahead of the actual money supply in existence for our whole system to survive because of all the interest that is demanded by the banks. The interest portion does not exist! It never has at any point.

People can pay it because they live within their means and have disposable income. But big picture, the 'overall supply' doesn't have enough to pay the interest when looked at as a whole.

When a bank lends out a 30 year mortgage, and the person has not yet made a payment on that mortgage, it doesn't matter. The bank views it as an asset as if the loan and all the interest has already been paid in full. They can then lend out a car loan backed by the mortgagee's promise to pay. Both loans will be backed by very little, if any actual financial assets that the bank has. But on paper, the bank is rich. That happens when you're allowed to create money out of thin air.

This house of cards will collapse some day.
